What's for tea tonight? (#8)

We have been so shit at shopping and meal planning so far this month. I’m tired and have the lurgy and Mr Looby is at football so I think it’ll probably be a takeaway. But I’m doing an online shop in a mo.

I’ve just put some mango puree in the freezer and then some custard and peach puree ready to play with our new ninja gadget. I’m hoping they’ll turn out as sorbet and ice cream tomorrow. Mr Looby is scared. 😄

Perfect combo.
Needed something quick as we have to be up early tomorrow to go out to MIL's do, which is going to be absolute chaos but in a stressful way rather than a good enjoyable way.
Last year she spent more than half an hour trying to make people sit in certain places, we were all starving and without drinks while she was looking at a seating plan (For A Pub Lunch!!!!) she'd constructed in which for some reason I was inexplicably supposed to be sitting at the opposite end of the table to N (and the only people I knew there more than to say hello to were her, N, and one of his step-sisters, we did end up sitting together but it was stressful. This year there's been a massive menu fuck-up so that will be fun, I might have eaten one of the other guests by the time that gets sorted out).

And breathe...

Sounds pretty shit. I would be a bit wound up too, but nothing bad has happened yet,and you have some peace tonight to be comfy in x

I ended up emailing the chef because I hadn't been able to order food that was being offered, and as I have a potentially life-threatening food allergy, if I go out to eat it is kind of important that I know what I am ordering, and that the kitchen knows about my allergy
They hadn't been told previously even though I'd said "please let the kitchen know" but at least are aware now.

Cooled down slightly and feels like rain so MrShakes has requested roast potatoes. I’ll do a couple of chicken Maryland and a fig, rocket, red onion and walnut salad to go with.

Given I’m a sweat bag after going to the supermarket I’m not convinced this is a good idea.

Looby is that a Ninja Creami you've got? I keep seeing wonderful things people have made. Let us know what it's like.

We've got roast garlicky chicken, potato salad and green bean salad.

Fake almond magnums for pudding.
Yes it is. I’m worried it’s going to be one of those faddy gadgets that ends up gathering dust. The biggest barrier for me is needing to plan ahead but we’ll see.
