What's for tea tonight? (#8)

ooh crustychick how about mrsfrans puy lentil lasagne? I totally love the earthy flavours in this & it can be vegan too if that's a concern? it's on her 101 every cook things every cook should know blog (moonsi being sooooooo helpful & not supplying link).

For me I will have a choice of '4 mains' but being veggie that now probably reduces it to one! I'm going to The Glee Club in Brum on a Groupon voucher which is comedy & dinner for £5.50 so fingers crossed I won't be complaining.
mmmm, that is quite a good idea actually :) i even reckon we could get away with replacing the tomatoes with red pepper paste tooo....

:)

I just made a really spicy tomato soup with chorizo, chickpea and a fuckton of chilli! It counts as tea cos hopefully ill be sleeping/sweating off yucksville for the rest of today...

lentil dahl Mac cheese (thanks to Bee the evil tea time temptress!) with sausages and garlic roasted tomatoes.

Nom nom nom!

mrsfran's puy lentil (well, beluga lentil, cos that's what I had) is bubbling away in the oven right now. the boy is not yet home though  i don't know how long we can wait!

Homemade pizza topped with olives, mushrooms, chorizo, yellow peppers and onion, mozzarella and a bit of grated emmental, served with spicy potato wedges and a mahooooooosive salad with mixed leaves, avocado, chopped apple, toasted seeds and a vinaigrette made with as much raw garlic as I can get into it.

That sounds lovely madz.

I don't know what to bloody have. It was supposed to be lamb chops with new pots, green beans and broccoli. Can't be arsed with that so thought maybe cheese on toast or pitta pizza (pitta bread, salsa, cheese).

However, after ringo mentioned the chippy I want a chip butty.

Aaaaagggghhhhhh

I was going to have sausages and Dahl but the boy got home early and turned his nose up at lentils so I might do chicken escalopes which have ham and cheese in with some rice and roasted tomatoes.

Marks and Spencer are cooking for me - mushroom pappardelle and garlic bread with a rocket and tomato salad. I've made the salad dressing, but that's it.

im not a fan of mrsfrans puy lentil lasange - and before people get their knickers in a twist, it is absolutely no disrespect to the lady herself, i know she is an excellent cook - but that recipe seems to be based on pain and deprivation. ho hum

tonight i feasted on Donegal Catch, wedges, mushy peas and mushroom sauce. It was yum.

Last night was yet another repeat of my standard *child free, Friday night* bulghur/courgette/mushroom/king prawn/mussel dish. And then CRISPS for pudding.
Reckon I'm going to have giant scampi, oven chips and broccoli tonight  although I also made some caponata last night, so if I can't be arsed with the other (turning the oven on, etc  ) I'll have that - although I've only got sliced wholemeal bread to go with it, which is not fucking RIGHT..... :-/

My aunt made a massive pile of samosas for the party we had last night and there's loads left over so a few of them. Her samosas are as good as anything you'd get in India - they're phenomenal. So them and whatever else is left over. Cake, mainly, I'd imagine.

Envious of NVP's samosas. Crisp properly fresh and tasty samosas are a world away from their sadder, greasier and soggier shrinkwrapped cousins.

Have had wonton soup already, but have a load of defrosted king prawns and little stomach capacity left. Spicy prawn something, perhaps with noodles and veg. Almost just tempted to get the griddle out and eat with lime juice and cayenne.

Waiting for delivery of lamb kosht, pilau rice & spicy cheese stuffed naan. Have almost drunk my way out of an all day hangover.
