What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Achaari paneer crisps + scrambled egg with sweet peppers & celery cooked into it.

Pasta in a sort of vaguely ratatouille sauce (pork mince, tomatoes, loads of fresh basil, aubergine, peppers, courgettes, mushrooms)

Last night we were ravenous from a day of painting so wolfed down a 3 course meal of:
Greek salad.
Greek lamb and orzo stew with massive hunks of baguette
Strawberries, meringue and vanilla ice cream.

Tonight I'm having a picnic at an outdoor Shakespeare play.

We had Polish grill sausages, mash, sugar snap peas, green beans and gravy.

Trying to find out what Mrs R is buying for tonight - I need to know!! Hope it's pork chops, although I'm developing a craving for spicy lentil and tomato soup.

CHANGE OF PLAN!!!
I can't locate the pork :hmm: which means we must have eaten it already, which is funny cos I have NO RECOLLECTION of it  ....anyway....we're having veg burgers instead, with salad/mustard/mayo/ketchup/cheese slice in a bap.

am thinking of trying Yotam Ottolenghi's Sabih Recipe but not sure if I can be arsed with the faff and the boy doens't really like aubergines.

hmmmm...

Apparently it's Higgedy Pies with new potatoes and salad.

Have you tried searching the thread for any mentions of pork?

Oh no, hold on. you can't search within a thread on this thing can you? bah.

Veggie roast, with spinach from the garden on the side. And baked bananas for afters if i can be bothered :)

That was delicious, but a bit salty. I think me and Nigel have different ideas of what a generous amount of salt when salting courgettes is.

No, it's a Monday night lazy one. That one took me hours.

Fibbing? Yeah, ok...

looked like an insane amount of work. Like bonkers insane with the oxtail mince and all the rest....you have to ask yourself: did he really go to all the bother of getting oxtail mince, and star anaise and all the rest for a spag bol..... and didnt it take the author two days to make it?

Yeah,it took ages. It was a recipe I really wanted to try. It was amazing.

Star anise isn't that rare, I have plenty of it as it isn't used that often. Oxtail is a doodle to get from Brixton Market on the way home....
