Ta soj Neither do I really. Have just sat here being fucking grumpy for months. Walking round the block daily has loosened my back a bit though. At £40 a go for an osteo it's pretty expensive, but I'm coming round to the idea of enduring a bit of pain for a lot of gain. Finally
it's not hard is it?So do I Even though I never do it now, chap and daughter don't do it to my standards, and NEVER wring the dishcloth out properly. Have had to learn to keep me gob shut!

I do keep my gob shut too though. I cook (and he leaves me to it), he washes up (so got to leave him to it). One day we will have a dishwasherExactly! don't leave it bloody dripping and in a horrible scrunched up little pile!

The biggest littlun (8) has decided she wants to cook properly like Daddy, so I made this her first proper attempt. I told her roughly how you make a pasta/sauce dish and just did the chopping myself.
Armed with pink mini-chef's hat and apron she collected basil from the garden, then got all the ingredients out and did all the cooking while I stood at the back drinking wine.
Pasta a la Leah
1tbsp olive oil
2 shallots, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
10 slices of chorizo, cut into quarters, fried and drained of their oil
handful mushrooms, sliced
Handful of basil leaves, torn in half
300ml double cream
salt & pepper
Handful of grated Double Gloucester
400g Rigatoni pasta
Put the pasta on to cook.
Fry the onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
Add the mushrooms and cook until soft, then chuck in the chorizo to heat through.
Stir in the cream and basil and season.
When hot add the cheese and stir until melted.
Mix the pasta and sauce, serve and top with more Double Gloucester.
For a first go it was really good, if rich enough to block arteries at 30 paces. She did manage to get a small burn on her finger but soldiered on. Well done my lovely girl
Can't beat stuff you've grown yourself. Our spuds are ace right now, too. I'm having more of last night's chilli con carne for tea later.Roast dinner, which I am particularily looking forward to because our lovely (if a little small) potatoes have been provided by our garden and they are the first things (apart from herbs) that we've grown ourselves.
