What's for tea tonight? (#8)

fishfingers ( the battered ones rather than breadcrumbs) and curly fries . no vegetables becasue the kids arent here so i dont have to set a good example :p

tufty, ferrero rocher cupcakes sound amazing :D

Last night was fine dining

Tonight is going to be a use stuff up dinner.

Loads of tomatoes.
Some mushrooms, bacon, potatoes, onion.
Bag of mixed salad and half a bag of rocket.
Have rice, Couscous, pasta, lentils and enough herbs/spices etc.

Just need to find a recipe

Wild mushroom tortellini with an ad hoc sauce.

Ended up doing up some dried pasta with many of the items above and some passata :)

Not sure for later

We're not going camping today cos my son hurled his guts up last night :( (so looks to me like bad sushi, prob!) - still have to go up there to pack everything up though  so might just have a mini bbq with the stuff we were supposed to be having up there when we get back instead - apple and pork sausages in rolls, griddled courgettes, tomatoes etc....dry toast for the boy. :p

More choc brownie cake for pudding for those that can manage it.

Poor master Sheo indeed, although it only confirms my belief that no good can come of sushi :O

We're having lemon baked salmon with asparagus and pea risotto.
Meringue nests with vanilla ice cream and berries.
And ranting.
:D

Pasta spirals and a sauce done with British garlic chorizo, onion, olive oil, mixed herbs, a red pepper, passata, balsamic and a big dollop of boursin. Wexford extra mature cheddar on top. Spiced tea and water for dessert.

the above again. Had it yesterday too. I could eat it every day for a month its so yummy.

We had puy lentil, sun-dried tomato and shallot salad, cold meats, bread, mozarella, gigantes beans, and non-alcoholic wine.

I had a minimalist picnic of pita bread, hummus and tomatoes after a 14 mile cycle ride, and am thinking of having some chèvre cheese and some of the Pays D'Oc I opened yesterday.

Herself is off camping in Suffolk tomorrow (I can't go - lingering effects of sciatica, gah) so tonight's the last night I can cook for her before Sunday :( Big chilli tonight, made with lamb. And there's some dark chocolate I can bung in too, mmm...

Hmmm....my post didn't show up earlier!

Horrible rainy day today (SO glad we weren't camping after all! - oh and crusty, it was the day after his birthday at least - although as I said, he'll never forget his first day of being 12! :D )...so we're having A ROAST  to go with a film.

Chicken (only got a thigh each, mind), roast potatoes, yorkshires, cauli cheese, asparagus, broc, bread sauce and mushroom gravy (made with the stock I made from the TANDOORI drumsticks the other day  ) and then more of the choc fudge brownie birthday cake, warmed in the oven, with clotted cream ice cream and garden strawbs (if the rain settles down enough for me to get out and pick em!).....

last night my mum presented my girls with - baked salmon in parma ham, green lentils with chard and braised fennel  knowing that they may be a little unsure of the mains she also did cheese - brie, goats cheese and stilton :facepalm:

i'd find it hard to invent a less kid-friendly menu if i tried :D

to their credit, kid2 ate everything and only left the fennel, kid1 (who has never eaten salmon since her impressive emergency-docs-on-xmas-day allergic reaction to smoked salmon as a toddler and has a known aversion to ham) tried everything and didn't make a fuss about the stuff she didn't like (most of it) and had second helpings of fennel.

they both had two helpings of summer pud :D

Ohhh Ron - you STILL suffering with that? Jesus man, feel your pain. I had it intermittently when preggers, and it was fucking agony!
