What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I have had SERIOUS fucking bad wind since I inhaled a cheese/onion/cucumber/tomato/encona tortilla before for me lunch (home made - not sure what kicked that off). Have only now, 6 odd rennies and 3 fucking Remegels later, started feeling better

SO

I'm really hoping that my planned tea of lager and Chicken Saffron Special doesn't kick it all off again, and that the lager works a bit like the Remegel - you know, breaking all the bubbles down...doing one great massive fart

Fingers crossed anyway

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm totally sick of Chinese foods. Had enough. It's unbearable but it's more tonight with a home-cooked roast duck and more pig stuff. Fuck. Also have more relatives coming over - people I don't know but we're related (so says my dad) and I don't know why or how.

Failed miserably at the Sunday roast yesterday, waylaid by the attractions of pub, sunshine and mates. Staggered home, both fell asleep on sofa, and muched and leftovers instead. Didn't even roast the bird in preparation for a hassle free Monday roast.
:(

So roasting the bird for tomorrow's dinner, whilst cooking some enchilladas for tonight (chipotle marinade just made) and perhaps a pasta salad or paneer/peas for lunches at work. Determined to play catch up, if only to relieve the pressure in the fridge

a thoroughly unseasonal tartiflette...

it's official. my favourite meal ever in the whole world - bar none - is tartiflette :D

(eta: it helps that while kid2 loves the stuff, kid1 is less sure - i think it's the "old cheese" that put her off :D - so i get to have hers too )

I've got nothing to do today so I'm gonna make a proper bubbles-away-on-the-hob-all day chilli con carne. At least three or four days worth which will, inevitably, be consumed in two sittings. Bought a stack of pickled chillies over the weekend and intend to use them to zap this fucking cold that I haven't been able to shake.

Jesus that was hot. :D <breathes clearly for the first time in yonks>

Last night was weird Linda McCartney veggie roast thing I found in the freezer with saffron and tomato braised potatoes and buttered cabbage.

Tonight will be a mozzarella and veg pasta bake with rocket.

Coconut and tomato dhal and rice for me, something with broccoli for the kids (cos we've got tons to use up) - maybe pizza ( :p @ moonsi), maybe chicken and bacon pies.

Banana/strawb/blueberry ice cream milkshakes for pudding.

I'm trying to use up freezer stuff and not go shopping this week so we've got burgers with something.
Not with burger buns as we don't have any, probably with the last of the potatoes from the garden and some green beans.

last night he made a ragu with the (pot roast guinness) beef and pancetta with marmite spaghetti and some (reduced, waitrose) goats cheese, red onion (or something) bread. And wine.

Not entirely sure what's going on tonight. There's ragu leftover and more beef and the beef sauce/gravy from sunday. And potatoes to jacket.

Stir-fried broad beans with chinese chives, some kind of roasted tofu dish and jasmine rice.
