What's for tea tonight? (#8)

There's a few weird things going on atm. Posts disappearing/reappearing somewhere else etc. I thought it was just people having trouble posting from phones at first.
well a comment on tarts may come up on a random thread then :D

nor you mine :p twas well fucking nom though :)
hehehe... that sounds like a challenge ;)

In other news, no tea for me tonight, out for a monster Sunday roast at the pub in a bit

We are having bangers and mash. With beans.

Only my daughter doesn't like beans so she'll probably have peas. And my teenage son doesn't like mash so he'll have oven chips.

We're having steak again because mr madz got too much out yesterday and we forgot to get anything else out of the freezer for tonight :D

Huge tomatoes stuffed with spinach, spelt and herbs; corn-on-the-cob, tiny boiled spuds, green beans.

He's making Pot Roasted Slow-Cooked Silverside With Bacon And Guinness and roast potatoes. :D

I might look at the broccoli and then ignore it entirely and it can remain in the fridge forever and ever and ever.

beef and bacon totally goes. I was brought up on stew consisting of beef and bacon (it breaks down all nice) and olives (and tomatoes and carrots and (eww) celery). :)

... followed by a slice of turkey and a handful of cherries - couldn't be arsed to cook (and we're more or less out of bread).

Will there be pics, Sheo?

I don't know what I'm having for tea but I'm in Seoul! So anything I want!

Would it be bad to go for Turkish on my first day here in a year? Part of me thinks I should be a good tourist and get a sanchae bibimbap.

And I *might* make a gypsy tart for pudding.... :hmm:

Making one of these this week - it's Mrs R's favourite and it's her 40th birthday this week. This time I will not run out of muscovado sugar and top it up with inferior sugar. She turned her nose up at the last one 'cos it was all crunchy.

Yay! Photos

Not sure, was going to do a chorizo black pudding and potato hash thing, but feeling fat after yesterday, so maybe that for him and salad for me :)

Does gypsy tart count as a birthday cake or should I something else as well?
If it's her favourite it definitely counts as birthday cake :) (although if you make something else she'll get to have more of her own cake ;)). There can never be enough cake.... mmmmmmmmm, cake.

a sanchae bibimbap.

A what? :D

I've got nothing to do today so I'm gonna make a proper bubbles-away-on-the-hob-all day chilli con carne. At least three or four days worth which will, inevitably, be consumed in two sittings. Bought a stack of pickled chillies over the weekend and intend to use them to zap this fucking cold that I haven't been able to shake.

Sounds good, it's so sweet I can't eat much of it so she'll get to eat just about all of it anyway. :)
