What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I'm not sure but thinking it may be baked sweet potato with grilled chilli halloumi with various bits of salad & cous cous.

Finally had this tonight it was delicious as well as a colourful looking plate. Also had garlic bread & BF had coleslaw (which I don't like).

Too lazy to cook properly so had cheesy bake thing, hash browns and peas from the freezer with the last of the homemade coleslaw and some bread and butter.

Hopefully tonight will be curry if Mrs R's feeling better.

Welcome to my world, Urban

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Ex has gone and got himself work STARTING TODAY. Means he wouldn't get here till too late to get the minibus and too late realistically to get the bus up, put the tent up and me to to get back at a reasonable hour (so FUCK THAT) - and also means that I can't go and put the tent up today because I can't risk missing collecting my daughter from school if we miss a bus coming back!
So - am having them tonight and we're all going up in the morning, so they'll only have one night there with him this weekend (and I'll only have one night off for the next week *cries*).
Plus of course he still hasn't got the gas and the shopping, LOOOOOOOL. He asked if I could get the gas :D and I said no, but there again that'll just mean an even later start (and therefore FINISH) tomorrow  so looks like I probably will.
Can't even leave them all to get on with it tomorrow cos he won't know what stuff is mine in amongst the MASSES of gear in the back of the truck

So, anyway, yeah :D kids tonight :D - going to do wraps - chicken/salad for the girl and king prawns/salad for me and the boy. Cornettos for pudding, prob.

And breeeeaaathe sheo :D fucksake he sounds like a total waste of space!

Back on topic - I still have a bit of pesto left over so might make a tiny bit more, and have that with fusilli, plus roast peppers/onions/garlic/field mushrooms. Not had that in aaaages, and really fancy it

Have some toffee cake for afters too

That sound like a tasty way to serve sweet potatoes. You may like this dish, suggested by a Leith's trained chef who does her 'cheifery' around the corner from where I live. Anyway she recommended:

Cut down the middle (from end to end but don't cut in half)
Put in a baking tray and bake
When cooked in the cut you made add goats cheese, and dry fried pine nuts
Garnish with Rocket with a light coating of olive oil

This dish is now a regularish very easy tasty treat in our house.

Erm... will there be any responsible adults on this camping trip Sheo? To look after him like? :hmm:

We had spag bol for tea. Wasn't great but it was ok. No wine. :(

leftover chicken/bacon/onion/mushroom/tomato mix from yesterday in wraps. I have wine and tears for pud

LOL! It sounds like a odd combination. Would you have broccoli in a omelette?

ETA: photos or didn't happen!

Yeah - I'd add brocoli to eggs

It was probably a bit more fritatta than omelette but it was fucking lush. Broad beans, onions, orange pepper, eggs, milk and cheese

No pics cos I've ate it.

Wonton soup using leftover spicy Chinese chicken stock from yesterday
Brown jasmine rice with spicy prawns and steamed mangetouts.

barbecue!

that joliver has a good flatbread recipe in his first book... will go a treat with houmous. I'll write it up for you if I remember tomorrow :)

Missed this. Yes please diddly. Now that I've got a bit of time on my hands I'd like to learn a few more recipes. I've never done anything with bread before. I expect that'd go well with my tried n trusted daal too.

I'm having pepper steak, new potatoes from the garden, broccoli, cauli and carrots tonight.

Sheo - I haven't got any pepper steak, new potatoes from the garden, broccoli, cauli and carrots. Could you get them for me then come down here and cook them too? Ta. Oh, btw, by the time you get here I'll have gone off and done something else. Cheers. :)
