What's for tea tonight? (#8)

OH's night off tonight, I was going to do a Greek feast (veggie/rice stuffed pepper and tomato for him, lemon baked chicken thighs for me, served with chips, salad, bread and various meze), but a trip to Morrison's reduced to clear shelf has caused a change of plan, because they had loads of packs of that ready rolled chilled pizza dough reduced to 39p each from £1.30 so I picked up a couple - I wish I'd been able to carry more because I'd have nabbed a load for the freezer, and more of the garlic bread of which they had many types yellow-stickered too, but I had other shopping to get.

OH loves pizza more than any other foodstuff on the planet, therefore his night off is a great time to do a build our own pizzas extravaganza. I'll make some tomato sauce this afternoon, I have hours to give it a nice long simmer to get it all rich and thick. We have mozzarella, olives, feta, pesto, tomatoes, red onions, peppers, mushrooms and various other cheeses besides those already mentioned (I forget what is in the cheese box at the moment but there are a few different ones) to use as toppings.

I'm looking forward to it, it should be fun! If they turn out alright I'll put pics on the pizza thread later.

I'm on day 6 of covid quarantine and running low on both stores and inspiration, but yesterday found some fillet steak in the freezer! so I cooked up some mushrooms, onions & leftover cream and had a delicious stroganoff.
Ooo, didn't know you'd got it, sorry to hear that chuck. Hope it's a genuinely mild case. Is J ok?

there was a couple of days of intense fever, but otherwise it's just been like an achey cold - I've tested negative throughout though, and have been mostly ok for a few days so I'm out today. My eldest is still in isolation tho and climbing the walls

J seems to have swerved it thankfully - there seems to be a massive spike going on in my circles atm though, so who knows how long for.

Urgh. Did you throat test and PCR? I'm guessing you did.

Good news about J swerving it, here's hoping that continues.

yeah, all negative but I've had no real contact with anyone apart from the kids in the infection window so while it's possible I could have just happened to have picked up a weird and terrible cold a couple of days after my daughter came down with covid from passing someone on the street, it doesn't seem that likely...

And if it is a nasty cold, no-one wants that either tbh!

I hope you are all back to normal soon.

I am having vegan hotdogs and french fries, from meat free farm, the hotdogs are ok. If they hadn't been free I wouldn't have paid the £2.00 they wanted and I can't say I would have them again, the texture is kinda off putting like eating playdoh.

Small one and himself have Lincolnshire sausages, mash, carrots and loads of roasted veggies and gravy. Pudding for the small is a neopolitan ice cream sandwich and I will finis off the mint choc chip later on.
