What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Roast shoulder of lamb with garlic and rosemary, roast potatoes & parsnips, leeks and peas, gravy.

Lamb came from the farm where I sometimes help out (never had lamb nearly as good from anywhere else, not even proper fancy restaurants) and all home-grown veg except the peas. Fucking fit as fuck :oops:

We’re having something called pierogi, some kind of dumpling filled with sauerkraut, served with mushrooms and carrots. Never had them before. Can’t go wrong with dumplings, right?
How were they? Pierogi can be quite leaden. Probably better if your granny makes them than bought wrapped in plastic from a Polish deli in Streatham.

I had a chicken pie and tromboncino* mash with a side helping of some veg I've just finished fermenting. These were delicious but didn't go at all as I've put tons of ginger in and consequently they taste quite sort of East Asianish.

*I finally cracked and picked the last tromboncino. It's a whopper, well over 2 ft. I don't think I'll get through it all in a week, jam or chutney beckon as I can't think of any way it would freeze well.

Dr Oetker pizza. I remembered them dimly from my time in Germany, when they were dirt cheap. Then a long hiatus, during which I found out they were scorned.

When they reappeared in the UK, I was tempted. Surely this counted as a departure from my other lazy supermarket pizzas.

I know I'm fooling myself.

Haha, I remember eating many of them in my Uni days. My Italian flatmate swore they were the only frozen pizzas he would allow in the flat since their crust was almost thin enough to be considered an actual pizza and not just bread with tomato sauce.

Ham roll for me, small had mash, carrots and peas and mini veg nuggets, himself had left over chicken pie, mash and Mediterranean veg.

Tomorrow am thinking of skining the Jerk flavour sausages, mixing with onions, roast pumpkin and tomatoes for a ragu for spaghetti.
