What's for tea tonight? (#8)

We’ve got mushroom and Camembert pies to try. Mr Looby suggested rice to go with them. He seemed surprised that pie and rice isn’t really a thing. :D

We’re having new potatoes, broccoli and peas which seems more reasonable.

I'm with you on this, I love rice, but I feel pies really need something spud related (mash or chips both work equally well) + other veg

I don't have much in and I haven't made a plan. I could just have a baked potato I have cheese but I don't think I have any beans, or I could have a chicken kiev left over from a few days ago, have to rustle up some vegies, sausages from the freezer, or I have some tinned soups, mushroom is one, I could it as a starter. Decision time is coming up! Place your bets now!

I am having spaghetti with tromboncino and blue cheese. I'm about halfway through the tromboncino now, if you ignore a portion of tromboncino mash which is still in the fridge.

Whatever I can get from the food bank. DWP not paying my old age pension due to staff shortages. Funny they always seemed to be enough staff to take NI contributions
Please post your tea here so we know you've had some. If not, let us know. Can drop you PayPal/Deliveroo voucher/supermarket credit/whatever. That goes for any other hungry people reading the thread. Wouldn't fancy my dinner much if it was being read about by people who weren't getting any.

My portion control goes out the window when it comes to Yorkshire pudding though, this is last night's effort cooked in a sandwich tin, it rose to absolutely massive proportions.

Thankfully OH scoffed the half of it that I couldn't manage with some leftover roast spuds, roast carrots and a tuna steak when he got in from work.

I am a little ashamed that I managed to scarf down half of the thing without so much as blinking mind you

I would have thought you should crack on with the chicken kiev.

Had it only recently though.

It is the thing cooking for one that whatever I buy is enough for two or more so I eat what I want and then the rest languishes in the freezer peeking out at me and my inability to eat it all in one go. I had the mushroom soup, the heart of a past it lettuce and then decided I didn't need any more.

Needed to use up some severely freezer burned, really old chicken breast, so have chopped it up and it’s marinating in tikka paste and spices which should help hide the appearance. Will get air fried with onion and peppers later.

Boiled rice and supermarket packet curry sauce on the side.

We bought one of those deboned spatchcock chickens earlier so having that with rice and edamame beans + a red onion salad, which all sounds a bit sensible for me.

The macaroni cheese sangwich I had y/day was one of the nicest Tings I've ever eaten in my life and would happily have it again today.
