What's for tea tonight? (#8)

As we get any yellow stickers free after 9pm I have had a look and it's incredibly slim pickings, not even a bloody yogurt left tonight!! So gonna grab the free bread in the canteen and make a sandwich when I get home. The small one had her tea at mums house so I shall assume that she had 2 bowls of ice cream. Himself has shakshuka.

yesterday was takeaway burger and fries and today and also tomorrow will be taco pie (quiche made with taco meat and cheese) plus oven chips, because it’s a quick dinner after watching the F1 on telly.

We are having our Christmas dinner.
Full on..
Turkey, ham, roast spuds, mash, carrots, parsnips, brussels sprouts,
Gravy...
Christmas pudding and brandy butter or custard.
Mince pies....

This is because the big brother is on holidays now and will be working over Christmas and wont risk coming to see us.

It'll be nice... I hope.

Eta...we will have another Christmas dinner on 25th Dec...😁

If it's not nice it will have the real Xmas hallmark

Solo Sunday for me (well most evening meals are tbf) and today I am pushing the boat out.

Morrison's had beef topside joints on special offer on Friday (not yellow stickered, just on special) - it's been probably decades since I had roast beef and I thought fuck it, had a rummage through the cabinet to see if I could find a small one/check the price of such, and bought a diddy little 500g one - I don't need a mountain of meat with a roast dinner with lots of sides, so if I stretch it to a couple of meals, I can justify getting something a bit more £/Kg (even on special) than I would usually buy.

So I am really excited about my tea tonight!!!

Roast beef
Yorkshire Puds
Roast Potatoes
Stuffing (the 1 remaining uncooked ball in the freezer from the last batch I made and froze so that is very low effort and needs using)
Roast Parsnips and Carrots (may test out a marmalade glaze to see if it is a goer for Xmas dinner)
Sprouts
Will make a gravy with red wine. Will also have mustard of course.

I really can't wait, I am hungry now but OH is asleep and needs to get himself something to eat in a few hours before he goes to work, so I am going to get cracking on prep once he has left for work this evening. Just debating with myself what size of Yorkshire(s) I want to make. I often suffer from eyes bigger than belly when it comes to Yorkshire provision. Little ones will probably work better for distributing leftovers around any spare gaps in the freezer.

Been daydreaming about this meal and planning it since Friday :D
Need to be careful with timings with such a small bit of topside!

That sounds great and I'm envious. Tonight for me it's a few beers and a packet of crisps...
