What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Small is having a weird combo of veggie sausage, udon noodles and carrot ribbons (it's what she asked for?). Himself is still ill so I am chucking a very spicy broth together (miso, soy sauce, mirin, lots of garlic, ginger, lemongrass, chilli, spring onions, chicken stock) served with udon noodles and salmon. I am having a sarnie.
 
Last night: Fried sea bass (OH), pork loin steak (me), pesto mash, tomato cucumber and olive salad

Tonight: Not sure yet, depends on whether OH is going to be spending the night in hospital or if he is coming home - if he is going to be discharged tonight I will cook something for both of us but if he is going to be admitted overnight I will probably stick to my original plan (meal for 1 because he was supposed to be working tonight) of chicken pie, mash, and broccoli if I have energy to cook anything.
 
Was given three large punnets of mushrooms yesterday so something mushroom based 🤔

Stroganoff I think.

A mushroom stroganoff really requires a LOT of mushrooms to be a properly fulfilling meal (but with ample mushrooms is amazing!) so that would be my response to having 3 punnets that needed to be used.

Other good calls would be mushroom risotto, mushroom fried rice, creamy mushroom pasta. Or of course side dishes like garlic mushrooms and mushroom bruschetta are bloody fantastic. Failing all else, just fry a load in butter and serve on hot buttered toast.

Have a bit over 1kg so should be okay 😁
 
I managed to defrost a good chunk of the freezer at the weekend by accident, so my week involves far more cooking then I wanted. :(

Got a huge slab of cooking bacon to make into some kind of pasta sauce. It's going to be super rich, so will definitely need to find some salad.
 
Chicken curry tonight, from the CoOp Truly Irresistible range, which isn’t bad tbf, cheese hunk sides and Oreo ice-cream for puds.

There’s some egg/cheese mayo in the fridge from y/day which although is great with curry there isn’t a hope in hell it will make the curry (due to raging munchies at the moment so there’ll prob be a Quavers and egg/cheese mayo beforeer).

Having olives/hummus at the moment as a pre-beforeer.
