What's for tea tonight? (#8)

How does that work then? Looks like a fondue  :D

Works in a similar way tbh. A portable electric hob keeps the soup in the pot simmering while you chuck in loads of meat and veg, wait for it to cook, pick it out and nom.

You're making me hungry too! I love that thin beef and the way it comes in little curls.

Are you China? Your mention of lunch time makes me think you're not.

I'm not in China but we're able to source all most of the food for hotpot that we used to use when we live there.

Most of the chinese supermarkets sell the thin meat and Little Sheep

have brought out their own range of soups :)

You have a pot of simmering stock on the table - I like it to be spicy, Szechuan style - and you cook stuff like tofu, mushrooms, very thinly sliced beef, prawns, Chinese greens in it. It's a bit like a meat fondue, but Chinese style. At the end, when the stock is highly flavoured from all the ingredients, you add some noodles. It's delish.

Sounds really nice, and a lot healthier than fondue :)

Shabu Shabu is yummy too, biddly. It's Japan's version of Chinese hotpot.
oooh

Will try and heat up some veg chilli before heading out to play records if there's time, otherwise it'll just be beer.

Dunno - off out tonight to watch (throw myself around in an ungainly fashion) me chap's band play their arses off, so erm...fried egg butty? Before copious amounts of beer? Yep - sounds about right

Was supposed to be up town eating out at Las Iguanas, but instead I am subsisting on Pistachios waiting for my boyfriend to get up. (He works nights)

you feeling better? :D

Well I am but there again that could be cos I've only had a bit of toast today.......visions of having to make a very fast AND VERY OBVIOUS exit from the violin concert this arvo meant I was too scared to risk eating anything more. :D

Drinking wine now though........

My latest usual *no kids* easy meal :D - bulghur, yellow pepper, red onion, garlic, mushroom (literally A mushroom - there's only one left :D ), spinach, courgette, king prawns, thyme, chives, soy sauce, tabasco.

Got lots of fruit to eat - grapes, strawbs and blueberries from the garden, melon - so prob some of that for pudding - maybe an almond finger too.
