What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Half a jar of shreeded beetroot
half a kilo of sprouts
can of baked beans
two lumps of bread I accidentally left the yeast out of.
tahini
beer

:p

(All I've had since 1 slice of toast at breakfast)

Managed to resist my chippy’s festive feast offer: Turkey Escalope, Battered Pigs in Blankets, Stuffing Fritters, Fish Goujons, Whitebait, Cauliflower Nuggets, Battered Sprouts, Chips, Gravy, Curry & Cranberry Sauce. 2 Cans of your choice £19.90 for the lot
The fishy elements seem misplaced. I would totally try the sprouts though.

I absolutely wouldn't have been able to resist that. Cor.

I had Christmas cheese and crackers for my tea.
Garstang Blue and Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire. Local cheeses for local people. :D

Pasta
Mushrooms cooked in buttery garlicky oil
Leeks softened in the pan
Cashew nuts added in
Samphire added in at the end
Pasta drained and roughly chopped watercress stirred through
Shredded peppered smoked mackerel added
Mushrooms etc added and stirred through
Juice of half a lemon + lemon zest added
Seaweed flakes, pumpkin, sesame and sunflower seeds sprinkled on top

Ate it while watching Jono going out of Masterchef.

Sprouts and beans again - last night's cost 29p - they're now 19p a bag ...
I also bought some new potatoes and a swede ...

Well someone on Paltalk almost snowed-in in Pennsylvania was saying collard greens need boiling for hours ... in that spirit I've started off with a cubed half of swede and shortly I will chuck in a bag of sprouts and a couple of carrots ... I also have new potatoes so will probably add a couple of those too ...

Still working my way through the merguez wing, so two of those with a dab of lime pickle, bulgar and lentil pilaf, cherry toms and kalamata olives and a chunk of the remarkably good seedy baguette they do in the Turkish shop. Budvar as an amuse-bouche.
