What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Not really, but my BMI begs to differ. I should lose some. I'm 42, and could do without a heart attack or a stroke right now. It would be a bit of a bummer for my family, who have enough trouble as it is.
You will shed a few pounds just from not drinking. It might not show to you but those you only see every couple of weeks will notice. Have you a dodgy ticker? If not the stress of worrying is probably worse for you than the food.

I've lost about ten pounds in a month
My heart is fine, but my blood pressure is high.

Frozen French beans though - are my daily lunchtime filler to make my low calorie soup go further- luckily we have a fridge at work :)

i understand - so long as you know Linda McCartney frozen sausages will be full of salt and fat (unless its raw vegetables, avoid anything convenience or processed unless strictly canned beans or tomatoes).

Have you talked to a doctor about the high blood pressure, and foods you should be supposedly eating/ avoiding? i dont understand how you can have a healthy heart but high blood pressure at the same time??. How does that score with high blood pressure? Hope you dont mind me asking.....

High blood pressure over time can damage the heart, but it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it. It runs in the family, so perhaps we have narrower arteries than usual. It doesn't help that they are probably clogged up with fat!
I have had no advice on diet, apart from cutting down on alcohol, but I haven't asked for it. I just need to eat less of everything.

Took some turkey mince out the freezer this morning so something with that.
Possibly some turkey burgers, but probably a green Thai curry.

There hasn't been much eating over the last few days so I'm going to have something fairly nutritious later. Prob fish with loads of greens, beans and other veggies. And lots of fruit and water all day long.

Fried lean beef diced steak, pepper, potato, onion, garlic. Pink lady apple and orange. Maybe a slice of water melon if still peckish which im sure i will be. Bowl of alpen for supper.

I deliberately over bought at the weekend on the curry front - so I had a chicken dansak, pilaw rice and sag aloo in the fridge from Saturday

Blatantly "thumbing my nose" at chilling the rice and no "will I die" thread - into the oven for a re-heat it all went

JEEZUS, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD AND ALL THE SAINTS - how do people EAT food that hot. For the record I am a complete and utter wuss when it comes to "hot food" - still, nothing ventured, nothing gained and I have gained the knowledge to stick with what I know

I have aubergines, courgette, red pepper, onions, red chillis, chilli flakes, tomatoes and chick peas simmering, and in another pan a small bag of new potatoes also simmering. Dinner for two nights and probably breakfast tomorrow too.

Mrs. S☼I out for department end-of-year meal so I cooked for myself.

On one hand, I've found out that you can't use a garlic press for ginger (I've pushed the mesh into bits, lol)
On the other hand I had a fantastic ginger chicken curry with spinach, sugarsnap peas, almonds, and various spices. Was gingery and hot and tasty and had no bits of metal in it, so that's deffo a win

Massive mixed veg curry & rice with naan.

Was a bit shit. Needed a load of veg to recover from the weekend but it turned into one of those mixed veg student style curries instead of a proper Indian dish. I cooked loads and nobody else wants it so I've got it for lunch again and will have to freeze the rest :(

Macaroni cheese tonight to make up for it
