Whatever the religious beliefs of Thatcher, Major, Brown, Cameron, May they were not a major factor in their support or particularly public profile.
Even in the case of Blair his own religious views were largely irrelevant to the wider support for him/LP. Blair was far more concerned about how his conversion to Catholicism appeared than the vast majority of people in the UK.
