What stupid shit has Trump done today?

It's a tad alarmist and hyperbolic - Turkey, as Germany and a number of other NATO countries did during the cold war, said that if they were not included in the US's nuclear umbrella (which meant the protection afforded by playing host to US nukes and being included in the dual key-dual use agreements) they would be forced to develop their own nukes.

The US agreed, and nukes were placed in those countries under the dual key-dual use arrangements.

The 'hostage' thing is simply that Turkey is saying exactly what it said before the nukes were placed in Turkey - that without US/NATO nukes being on its territory, it would develop its own. It does not mean that there are Turkish soldiers standing outside the bomb dumps saying 'you can't leave'.

Erdogan and Putin to meet next week.

I believe there's a reasonable chance Turkey will turn and work with Russia in exchange for guarantees Russia will keep the extremists from attacking Turkey.
That, if it happens, will leave a NATO member and host to US nukes working with Moscow.
A massive win for Putin.

Erdogan, Putin, NATO and the US are all extremists don't you think?

He doesn't realise what trouble he's in:

Does Trump Realize the Trouble He’s In?

"“No, what really got to me was that Trump distributed copies of this letter to congressional leaders when they showed up at the White House for a briefing. Think of it. Even if the letter had been perfectly normal, what Trump was handing them was an Oct. 9 request to Erdogan to halt his invasion — a request that Erdogan has, as we’ve seen, totally ignored. Trump was bragging about what he considered to be a sign of his own brilliance without realizing that it was instead evidence of abject failure.”"

I mean this is just laughable stuff, real clown college hours. Even when Reagan was in the throes of galloping senility things didn't get this daft.

At least Reagan had Nancy pulling the strings and giving him his meds. Pence is no Nancy.

Is she not still looking at him like that though, is that not real?

The look is real - he still said an enormous number of strange and stupid things during that press conference, like he does every time he talks. Sounds like he got Matterella's name a bit wrong the first time he said it but 'Mozzarella' is a little too much of a stretch.

"Syria may have some help with Russia, and that’s fine. It’s a lot of sand. They’ve got a lot of sand over there. So there’s a lot of sand that they can play with."

"And the Kurds are much safer right now, but the Kurds know how to fight. And, as I said, they’re not angels. They’re not angels, if you take a look. You have to go back and take a look. But they fought with us."

"And the meeting took place right here at about 6 o’clock last night, and it was very sad, to be honest. She lost, and they lost, their son. I believe it was going down the wrong way, because that happens in Europe. You go to Europe and the roads are opposite. And it’s very tough ... And I offered to bring the person in question in, and they weren’t ready for it. But I did offer .... I spoke with Boris. He asked me if I’d do that, and I did it. Unfortunately, they wanted to meet with her, and unfortunately when we had everybody together, they decided not to meet. Perhaps they had lawyers involved by that time."

Agreed with exceptions.
Erdogan, no argument there and Putin is a power mad nut job. NATO is used by extremists within the US government but they appear to use the UN more. The US is not extremist but has a good few extremists in their government. However, most of their issue is cash politics rather than idealism - Not that mass murder for cash is any better.
The above doesn't absolve anyone from any other group, including Kurdish nationalist that commit acts of terror.
The argument about the PKK being terrorists, for me at least, comes down to their attacks. If they stick to military targets, they are not terrorists, but they are extremists as communism is an extreme ideology. The moment any group deliberately attacks civilians, they deserve anything coming to them.
Propaganda says the PKK are terrorists, something I'll only agree with if their attacks deliberately target civilians. Must google as I don't don't know.

I see nothing extreme in hankering after Communism Don Troooomp, and nothing Communist about the PKK.

Apart from their name, hammer and sickle, and a bunch of other stuff like claiming to be communists and announcing they want to create a communist state, I agree, the PKK aren't communists.
As for communism not being extreme, they aren't the fucking LibDems, are they?

However, as I'm unfamiliar with the nature of their attacks, I won't believe they're a terrorist group until I see they deliberately attack civilians. Military targets are an entirely different matter and not terrorist acts.

I'm sure you know, but I'm gonna repeat it.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

The lines are very blurry.

I know they attack military targets but I'm unfamiliar with their record against civilians so I can't say either way. Perhaps a thread on the subject if there isn't one already. However, I gather the Kurds and Turks have both saif the US is lying about the ceasefire.

Edit - The post above has a link

You say you know they attack.

Do these military attacks occur on land the Kurds claim to be theirs?
Did these military attacks take place while the Kurds were helping the Americans fight ISIS?

I suppose everything is context.

I'd be interested in discussing this for my own education, but perhaps a new thread would be better in order not to derail this one.

Errrr, anybody going to tell him that in almost ALL of Europe they drive on the same side as the USA. Wouldn't want any more idiotic bellends coming over and driving on the wrong side because Trump told them they all drive on the left.
