Why would a " billionaire " quibble over a few hundred thousand. If it was going to cost him more bad press ?
 
All this so rich people don’t have to pay their fair share to society through taxes and their sometimes dodgy money making schemes aren't regulated by laws.

What the healthcare debate in the US has proven to me is that rich people not only don't want to pay their fair share in taxes, they want to take for themselves the taxes everyone else pays too. They're willing to do this even if other people have to die so they can have more money. I didn't used to be a radical, but the more I pay attention, the more radical I get.

I'm the same. I used to be an old school one nation Tory. Voted for Thatcher in 1987 (first time I could vote and one of the biggest regrets of my life). I used to think right wingers wanted the same thing as left wingers. A more just and decent world. But they just had a different means of getting there. So, y'know, there was an ethical underpinning. I don't believe that anymore.
Just good old fashioned ruthless greed rules the roost on the right.

(Lurker coming out of the closet) I guess it depends on what you consider 'rich'. If you're talking billionaires and millionaires to paraphase Bernie, then yep. However, if you're talking people making 6 figures I don't agree. I make about $250K and absolutely don't object to the taxes I pay, I just wished the taxes I paid actually went to things that had more social value rather than increasing the military budget, etc. This year is the first year I have used a CPA to prepare my taxes because I want to reduce the amount I give to this administration to piss up the wall.

While $250K is a lot of money to most people, it's still chump change in comparison to the extreme hoarding of money I'm talking about. You don't have enough money to make lawmakers rewrite entire healthcare bills to suit you. You don't have enough money to demand that 30 million people lose access to care so you can have a tax cut. You don't have enough money to pay nothing in taxes while demanding billions in subsidies as a number of corporations have. If I made as much money as you do, I'd likely be doing the same thing. I'd try to pay as little in taxes, while using the money I save for things more deserving of funding.

The US has been a rogue state for many decades. See Chomsky on that one. Trump has not radically changed US foreign policy at anything other than the rhetorical level. Opposing Trump isn't enough. Opposing Trump still leaves you with a genocidal rogue state.
