A New York Times investigation offered some unnerving news on Friday. Not only was the hacking of electoral systems during last year’s election “more extensive than previously disclosed,” the paper reports, multiple sources say that nobody’s really examining the the attacks on a state or local level. The reasons why are as complex as they are alarming.
One thing is clear: A lot of registered voters in North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and Arizona didn’t get to vote on election day last year, because their names weren’t in the electronic poll books. We’ve known for a while that Russian hackers had infiltrated the servers of VR Systems, a company that provides the software for polling equipment. However, anonymous sources from the intelligence community told the Times that at least two other election software companies had been hacked as well.

What has trump to say about this?
Russian politician Vyacheslav Nikonov, a member of the Duma, said U.S. "intelligence missed it when Russian intelligence stole the president of the United States." He made the remarks on a Russian panel show, "Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov."
The episode centered on the U.S.' diminishing power on the world stage and the resulting chaos, The Hill reports. University of Virginia professor Allen Lynch told The Hill that Nikonov's statement was directed at the idea that the U.S. must be losing power if it can't uphold the integrity of its own electoral system.
White House: ESPN anchor that called Trump racist should be fired
But the flag waving, gun toting, racist slogan chanting Nazis in Charlottesville? Oh, that's free speech. That's fine.
Following the Parsons Green attack today, he's calling for the internet to be cut off
Oh my fuckin sides
He tweeeted that the attacker is known to Scotland Yard,..... so an internet blackout would stop the one fucker on the planet helping the terrorist...him.
Trump says he wants a "really great parade to show our military strength" and he wants it to be even bigger than the one he saw in France.
His phrasing makes it sound like the kind of idea he might come up with just before drinking his chocolate milk, eating his peanut butter sandwich with the crusts cut off, and taking his afternoon nap.
Trump says he's considering July 4 parade 'to show our military strength'
Name calling may not be part of a smart de-escalation strategy
Christ. He called him Rocket Man again, and also threatened to totally destroy North Korea, during his speech today at the UN General Assembly.
Surely you didn't just figure that one out!fucking hell- he is no great thinker is he ?
So much of the Trump phenomenon is about history. Fueling the divide between pro- and anti-Trump camps is exactly the fact that we've never had a real reckoning with either our terrible past or our similarly bloody present. The Trump movement culturally represents an absolute denial of our sins from slavery on – hence the intense reaction to the removal of Confederate statues, the bizarre paranoia about the Washington Monument being next, and so on. But #resistance is also a denial mechanism. It makes Trump the root of all evil, and is powered by an intense desire to not have to look at the ugliness, to go back to the way things were. We see this hideous clown in the White House and feel our dignity outraged, but when you really think about it, what should America's president look like?
Christ.
I caught a bit of his speech on the car radio, where he was talking about the problem of "rogue states." Honest to God, he was describing the US at the moment to an absolute T.
While previous presidential campaigns have used these funds to pay for routine legal matters such as ballot access disputes and compliance requirements, Trump would be the first U.S. president in the modern campaign finance era to use such funds to cover the costs of responding to a criminal probe, said election law experts.
One person familiar with the matter said the first payments, the amount of which Reuters could not determine, has already been made and would be disclosed in public filings. The person did not explain how the costs would be allocated between the campaign and the RNC.
