What new foods have you tried recently?

There was some Wensleydale cheese with 'Christmas pudding fruit' in it at the supermarket today. I didn't buy any.

Today I made, from scratch, onion and mixed herb stuffing. Given how easy it was I can't imagine why I haven't done it before. I used wholemeal bread to give a bit of extra "body", and a mix of "Mediterranean" dried herbs. Not having an oven I cooked it slowly in a frying pan. I was surprise it worked so well, and I'll be doing it again.

I preferred my stuffing to the turkey I had over Christmas

It was 1 pack of paxo sage and onion ,two chopped raw onions 1 can chestnut puree , 1 packet of chopped raw chestnuts and a packet of lidl pork sausages which I de skinned muched together in balls ....

Think I may add some bacon ...roast it in a tin and make it onto a sort of meat loaf ...next weekend ...serve it with mash and gravy.....and maybe some steamed cabbage

An orgasm. Think a mix of stuffing, bacon and chutney?

Edit: Top a burger with some or add a tablespoon to a noodle dish and you're in business!

A noodle dish?

I've only ever used it in burgers (and omg is it good) but I don't eat them often so it went out of date and I feel that it is too extravagant to purchase it again if I won't use it. :(

Piri Piri Hummus...
How comes I've never discovered the delights of piri piri before.. What is it?
Lovely in hummus..

Added curry powder, sausage meat and potato is also good :)

ikea meatballs, tried because so many people rave about them, but I really don't see why, they're kinda blueurgh.
Salmon paste in a tube (also ikea) - pretty good :)

I've never been to Nando's but that's just reminded me - there's a Portuguese place near where I train that I've been to a couple of times that does a fucking beautiful bean thing they call Luso. Google has informed me that Nando's do something with the same name but theirs sounds more tomatoey whereas the one I had was more savoury and had bits of bacon in.

I agree - they're really smooth and weird. We had Ikea gingerbread dough this Christmas, which my Swedish decorator tells me is so good it gave him a little Proustian rush

iona Nando's Luso is horrible. I've never had it anywhere else but I suspect they've got it a bit wrong.

I'm struggling to come up with a tangible list of things that Nandos does right. I like that they donate the chicken that they're gonna throw out to one of those freegan style restaurants, though. That's cool of them.

Chicken livers  Their chips are pretty good too. That and the donating might be it, though.
