I don't eat breakfast, except on holiday.
For one short period of my adult life I did.
Breakfast was:
Two plates of porridge
Cooked breakfast (as much as I could get)
Six slices of toast and jam
Morning break:
Two packets of sandwiches
Lunch:
Cooked lunch with seconds and occasionally thirds.
Pudding x as many as available
Four slices of bread and butter
Afternoon break:
Two packets of sandwiches
Tea:
As much as I could get.
As many puddings as I could get
Four slices of bread and butter.
Supper:
Two packets of sandwiches.
I calculated it at about 7 - 8000 calories a day. A huge intake, yet despite this, I lost weight.
Forget about fancy diets, do military basic training for 13 weeks.
Of course, your kit is 'fitted' when you arrive, on passing out, my No2 Shirt collar was about 4" too big, and I wasn't fat when I joined up.
I was talking to a neighbour the other day who is ex-Army Catering Corps, he mentioned the days when we could run five miles without stopping, and had enough air to chat as you went. He said 'Fancy trying it now?'
He maybe could actually, he is one of those wee wiry people, I would be needing oxygen at 100 yards.
