Fish can indeed be an exciting and tempting food at any time of day. But pilchards on crispbread with water? I'm struggling to think how that could be blander.

Mind you my breakfasts are almost always coffee or energy drinks so maybe I should shut my jittery mouth.

About to walk to work and brave the London weather(not so bad at present)

My Irish mother cooked this for us when we were kids.
Not always easy to find in London back then.
Hard to describe - but from memory a little more spicy perhaps.
Unlike the black pudding no blood content.
I think you’ll love it.
Think I might seek some out in the near future….

I had never heard of that before. Quick search and yeah definitely a Scottish thing.
Mainly found in chip shops apparently-sometimes battered!
Think I’ll keep away from it…..
