What are you having for breakfast?

Toffee chocolate, a cheese and onion pie, a multigrain baguette slathered with whey cream butter. Black tea and a pint of water.

I'd not heard of whey cream butter before, but picked up a pack in Booths when I was there to collect an order from John Lewis. Made locally in Lancashire which is always good. More info here and here.

View attachment 158127 I’m My partner has this PB, it is lush to a take it or leave PB liker as me.

I have started to get peanut butter from Aldi - they do a 100% peanut one for £1.25 (280g). It tastes OK to me, but I'm not a peanut butter aficionado.

Broad beans/sweetcorn/tomatoes/chilli/oil. A crunchie for afters and black tea.

Oh yeah - you've recommended those before! They're M&S right? I will try to remember next time I'm near one.

Yeah, on sale in Marks. Got a pack out to defrost for cheesy crumpets later.

Seedy toast with marmite and peanut butter (on separate slices wronguns )

A cup of tea and 2 slices of toast with jam and peanut butter.

This has always puzzled me. Do people put two different spreads on the same slice of bread? :hmm:

For jam/peanut butter presumably the peanut butter would need troweling on first, as otherwise it would slip off the jam if it was applied the other way round.

Nah, butter and peanut butter on one slice, butter and jam on the other slice. Only applies to toast though. Sandwiches = mixed together.

I think absolute FOOLS use peanut butter in place of butter (instead of as well as), so it goes on before the jam.

Marmite first, then peanut butter

Never tried jam and peanut butter though, I'm not that much of a wrong'un :D

Weirdo. :p

I can't imagine anything worse than mixing the two in a butty. :(

For the record...

Butter and peanut butter - ugh
Peanut butter and jam - ugh - way too sweet
Marmite and peanut butter - amazing!

Agree with number two.

Butter and peanut butter work well together - as does butter and jam. But additional toppings beyond butter should never be mixed.

By the way, a friend of mine used to be given sugar butties as a kid to keep her quiet. They were probably on buttered bread. :D

I used to eat butter and sugar sandwiches as a kid. It was a treat.

If you use blackberry jam with peanut butter it isnt as sweet..and spread the jam on bare bread
It soaks in and doesn't get too mixed in with the peanut butter which you've spread on the other slice.

See marmite and pb is more wrong than pb and jam imo. Decent pb is already salty. Eta: by decent I mean packed with sugar, salt and oil not that worthy stuff.

My kid likes a pb and jam sandwich. She calls them peanut butter jellyfish, which has its roots in gross Americanism but also makes me laugh.
