What are you baking?

I wanted to do some baking yesterday, but I'm running low on flour so I made a batch of these
But with chopped walnuts instead of choc chips.

They turned out well so will be making them again.
I have lots of peanut butter and oats, so am definitely gonna try those.

Just got a kind upside down apple sponge thing in the oven. The sponge looks a funny colour, so I may have forgotten to put something in. :hmm:

First ever Quiche Lorraine, didn't have a flan tin, so had to improvise with a cake tin! There is a lot of crust, due to the tin situation, but it was really nice even if I do say so myself! :D

Another attempt at a recipe that uses less flour than it should. To be honest, there wasn’t much of a risk here as the main ingredient is still chocolate. The only question was would it be another ‘okay, but what’s the point?’ Thankfully it works out that the starchiness of the potato makes it lovely and crispy where it’s been in direct contact with the tin. A proper Bundt pan would have been better but the.... whatever you call these ones did well enough.

All in all I can heartily recommend the Chocolate-Mashed Potato Cake with Ganache

Everything looks amazing, I’m well impressed with all the bread. 😊

Has anyone got a recipe for a good cheese scone? Really fancy some and supermarket fruit scones are ok but not cheese.

Go with the upper amount of cheese, and add more like three quarters of it to the dough. Bit more mustard, about a tsp of dried thyme, and/or some finely chopped bacon and/or onions (fried in just enough fat to stop them burning, add to dough once cooled) are good additions too.

If you're using plain flour add 3 tsp baking powder, or 2 tsp cream of tartar + 1 tsp bicarb, per ½ lb flour.

I use sour milk for scones but idk how much difference it actually makes.
