What animals/wildlife have you seen today?

Meeces! Loads of them by yo sushi/pret in St Pancras STN. They clearly have a little nest in one corner and were coming out of there and running about quite happily. I think I watched around 4 at the same time. One extra tiny one kept running up the black metal leg of one of the stools.

A man from pret came past and he seemed fully aware of them "sometimes I see 10 at a time!" I guess food, crumbs, railways, humans = +++rodent activity

Cute but mildly concerning as they do prep and sell a lot of food there. Wonder what their scores on the doors are?

Birds are hungry this morning, and one or two are very bedraggled. On Saturday [23rd Nov] morning, some were very fluffed up against the cold.
Getting noisy at times ...

I saw the deer grazing last night by the dual carriage way going over the haldons.

They’re a nightmare to spot as it’s dark, and you’re going past them at 50mph or so (it’s a 70mph limit but I don’t like driving fast). Would be easier to see with full beams on perhaps but i don’t think they should be used on dual carriageways myself. So you see a deer like shape suddenly, but go past it in a split second.

How lovely!
I assume it's a male and a female, what with them being fighty territorial little sods otherwise?
Brilliant photo!
We think Mr and Mrs, yes. They are singing to each other, and Mr taught her how to come in for food. They behave quite differently. Mr perches at a particular place on the window, waits to be let in, has his food and flits off in a straight line down the garden afterwards. Mrs hangs around looking hopeful, doesn't have a particular spot and is quite skittish but also more curious, hopping around on the floor and not rushing off immediately.

Saw a deer yesterday morning. Unfortunately the dog saw it too and was off on the chase. It took 15 minutes for the stupid mutt to come back

I had two male robbins knocking seven bells out of eachother in the garden yesterday. I'd just topped up the bird feeders so there was plenty for everyone but I suppose it's a territory thing with them.

I might be wrong here but isn't it only the male ones who have red breasts?

They both have red, in males the red extends most of the way down their front to between their legs, in females the red area finishes a bit higher and the rest of its front is greyish brown.
I don't think juveniles have the red breast, just the adults.

Difficult to tell from that photo but I do think if it was 2 males they'd be knocking 7 shades of shit out of each other - they don't live very long largely because they're so fighty. :(

In the past we have seen an intruder robin and our Mr rolling around the patio fighting. This is definitely a Mrs with the smaller/higher red breast you describe.

If they're used to coming in by spring they might well try to nest indoors :D
My parents sometimes get them nesting in their back porch (which has walls and a roof, but no door on it) and have to spend the spring going out the front door and round the side of the house to get to the back garden instead of via the back door and through the porch.

One year a pair picked one of my dad's wellies to build a nest on top of :D
