Chocolate maybe harmful to squirrels.
I imagine that squirrel might be about to find outChocolate maybe harmful to squirrels.
Is that to hide their numbers?Saw a lovely swan family earlier. All trundling along in single file.
Two robins in the kitchen. They were both on the recycling bin briefly, but were too quick for me

We think Mr and Mrs, yes. They are singing to each other, and Mr taught her how to come in for food. They behave quite differently. Mr perches at a particular place on the window, waits to be let in, has his food and flits off in a straight line down the garden afterwards. Mrs hangs around looking hopeful, doesn't have a particular spot and is quite skittish but also more curious, hopping around on the floor and not rushing off immediately. How lovely!
I assume it's a male and a female, what with them being fighty territorial little sods otherwise?
Brilliant photo!
I had two male robbins knocking seven bells out of eachother in the garden yesterday. I'd just topped up the bird feeders so there was plenty for everyone but I suppose it's a territory thing with them. How lovely!

Saw a deer yesterday morning. Unfortunately the dog saw it too and was off on the chase. It took 15 minutes for the stupid mutt to come back

I might be wrong here but isn't it only the male ones who have red breasts?
In the past we have seen an intruder robin and our Mr rolling around the patio fighting. This is definitely a Mrs with the smaller/higher red breast you describe. They both have red, in males the red extends most of the way down their front to between their legs, in females the red area finishes a bit higher and the rest of its front is greyish brown.
I don't think juveniles have the red breast, just the adults.
Difficult to tell from that photo but I do think if it was 2 males they'd be knocking 7 shades of shit out of each other - they don't live very long largely because they're so fighty.
