What animals/wildlife have you seen today?

Awful mobile snaps but we saw some seals yesterday... there were young ones playing in the pool too.

Went to walk into a cave and got chased out by mum seal. Made a pretty sharp exit.

a blue tit at the new;y opened bird feeder in the garden this morning..

throwing an amazing amount of shit out of the feeder for small bird

and bumped into the foxy at work today as it snuck around the electric van charge point as i was have a drag

did not seem to bother with me standing a few feet away from it

'kin loads of dead foxes and a dead badger. Usually the other way around. Oh and a dead pheasanty thing and a dead magpie. Carnage on the roads around here, usually happens on a foggy morning but it wasn't foggy today.

BUT I saw a live fox, deep red, running away from my car  and it's the nearest one I've ever seen to the village. About 1/4 mile. They just don't visit (our bins).

Red kites, red kites, red kites.

One of my long lens pals showed me a kingfisher nest this morning. Here is the female just chilling on a branch below it. You can just see she has a sandy beak in the first couple of pictures: I watched her go in and out of the hole in the bank several times so she must still be excavating. Pal says he saw a male with her for a good while there yesterday so they are already paired up. She yakked a pellet up while I was there too but I didn't have the shutter speed to capture it properly. The trick now will be getting there at a time of day when the light gets under the bridge better.

I’ve not seen any bats so far this year, but often get them in and around the trees at the front of the house. Usually a little too fast darting around to get a picture but they’re wonderful to watch

We've got a whole family of foxes living in our garden. A vixen and three cubs. The cubs are unbelievably cute - they haven't even turned red yet and are a dark brown colour.

I like watching them, but want them to grow up and bugger off so we can attempt to fox-proof the garden.

We've always had visiting foxes, but these seem to have based themselves under the decking and an adult fox chased our elderly and nervous cat the other day. :( I suspect it thought it was protecting its young. Cat is a greedy little tyke but I suspect a live fox cub is a bit much, even for him!
