Was Leftfield Leftism the best album ever?

Ozric

Getting older, one day at a time.
.......or not?

I cannot fault it, I almost shed a tear when I hear it because it reminds me of a great past but is still nigh on perfect. Does anyone eslse either relate or know of a group that conjoures as much feel/emotion?

Boring! Well we all have our own rooms in life and mine plays Leftfield. I'm not going to diss you but I'm assuming you have a love for music as do I, and I'm also a critical git but cant fault Leftfield.
I'm currently chilling to Leftism.

According to the imbeciles that watch MTV the 2nd best album ever is Craig Davids debut. Wtf?

The reason I was going for a 'Best Album' thing was coz I got one of those Facebook questionares.....

...for me Leftfield was one of the most influential....hence the question.

I just remember at the time, Leftfield were the great trendy thing and the way the album was reviewed and described, it sounded like absolutely the sort of thing that I would love. I bought it, and I just didn't. I really tried as well but I just didn't think it ever got beyond "yeah that's an okay track".

It's more of a personal "learning not to trust the NME/Mixmag/music press in general" moment I suppose. See also: Black Grape, Bobby Digital.

I loved it and then everyone else heard it..............like Guns an Roses Appetite for Destruction

Its definately in my top 20. Brings back so many memories.
That and Dreadzones Second Light.

Oh yeah, Underworld too. Also pimped relentlessly in the music press but I didn't feel cheated at all, even if you couldn't go anywhere without hearing feckin Born Slippy.

Nah, Snivilisation, and In Sides came out around the same time and were infinitely better than anything Underworld or Leftfield were doing :)

Orbital are one of the best live acts ever. Fact.

totally agree with this

orbital were trying to push the boundaries with both those albums. their finest period imo

OH NO I AM NOW GOING ON A STUDENT NOSTALGIA THING

I wouldn't say that In Sides, say, was better than Second Toughest, but that was a brilliant period for them, and they are, yes.

PWOG - Ov Biospheres and Sacred Grooves pisses all over any so far mentioned though. Ignore the cringeworthy title though (they were ToPY fans).
