War on Woke: Conservative Cultural Campaigning

I haven’t listened to the interview yet, but according to a conductor putting on operas outside of opera houses is woke.

The headline seems to be quite a bad misrepresentation of the article. In one place he talks about people being put off opera (reason: it is seen as elitist), then later he says the phrase "misguided wokeism". But he doesn't make a causal link between the two afaict.

This looks a proper ratcheting up though. Labour is telling women to shut up

I mean they probably do, but coming from tories ...

I count as woke in at least 6 ways according to the list. I don’t think I class as young otherwise it would be 7

Don't forget plastic bottle tops...

Everton Women are woke because the entire team got Player of the Match, at least according to angry Liverpool fans. I mean, Courtney Brosnan should have got it but it is the last women's derby to be played at Goodison, possibly forever considering the state of the world, so I can kind of see why they thought 'why not'. It's kind of ironic seeing Liverpool fans complaining about wokeness, considering the way other fans view them.

How is menopause woke? It's just a biological feature.

IIRC the 'story' was that a senior police chief wore a hot-flush simulating vest for a day. Like, how dare he attempt to gain understanding of how older female staff might be affected by the perimenopause

Optimising workplaces for men would obviously not be woke.

Anyone under 58

RNIB - see life boats above but believing in dyslexia is woke

No, they like the idea of the armed forces, and they served almost three weeks ( every Thursday night) in the ATC when they were 12 in 1971. But not the actual armed forces with women, people who aren’t white ( apart from Johny Ghurka ) and the gays.
