Lorne sausage if you mean the Scottish square or circular sausage. Nope, it will grow lots of weird fluff if left outside the fridge. I happen to know this. :D. In fridge it probably lasts a couple of days. If I have another childhood food nostalgia fit soon, perhaps I should test this in the interests of science or something. :)0"

I have to pick up "lawn sausages" nearly every day. Three dogs you see . . . :D

I think it's rat shit levels in US food you have to worry about though.
 
If you don't like the idea of ground beef, you can just eat the actual ground, which in this package appears to be soil with added beetroot colouring:
