US election 2012

been enjoying the hysteria over on free republic this morning
Its bonkers over there. Interesting reading between the lines. There is a clear blame game going on with lots of them blaming the Christian fundy's for not being able to vote for a Mormon. I have no idea of how many fundies actually abstained but its an interesting divide and one that will probably play out in the coming GOP civil war. The fact is the tea party anti government types and Christian right moralists appeal to a shrinking demographic. so if they want to ever see power again the GOP is going to have to dump them and they aren't going without a fight.

A tiny little light - Kshama Sawant, Socialist Alternative (sister org of SP in UK) candidate for the Washington state legislature in Seattle (State House 43 Position 2) polled 27.4% last night. Does anyone know what sort of results the like of the Green Candidate, Jill Stein (sp?) and Cindy Sheean (sp?) + Barr got?

Any more info on that?

how inconvenient that they hold their elections at night!

Obama does not have to worry about another term, perhaps he can achieve something now.

Freerepublic have all new poster's post on review........playing it slow at the moment but getting there, the froth and fuming on that site is a joy to behold. :D

I'm putting on the persona of an angry right wing christian voter who blames Mitt for being a mormon and god turning his back on the good old GOP :D

Ouch. That was a very long night. Crashed at 6.30am, up for work at 8.30am. Clearly my support made the difference though ;)
Take an hour off each and we're in the same situation.

Found it rather hard to balance when I first woke up, and still pretty groggy now :(

Sheehan was Barr's candidate for veep - they got 7,971 in Florida & 33,171 in California (0.1 & 0.4 respectively). The Green did a little bit better, but not much. The Socialist candidate in Florida got 776.

Not sure how many other states any of them stood in
