I guess you need to get more pageviews on your blog before you start hitting those levels of progressive stack payments. I bet you don't even have a Tumblr!

check your not-having a tumblr privilege, my people have been oppressed for as long as tumblr has been around

Don't you watch read and repeat rt?

From a comments thread on the RT site:

"you want to be understood. Try to understand. Thibgs have definitions. You took guns to kick elected officials-that is coup and your are governed now by power hungry herd. You bun language of compact leaving local nation-that is racial discrimination. You vandalise ww2 memorials and carry bandera portrets - this is nazi legacy. You have a rational for these actions and your revolutionary rage. That is brainwash to cover all listed. Your smile and a cup of tea we can drink wount not change these definitions."

There's little enough humour in this affair, so I thought I'd just leave this here.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/feb/25/ukraine-sevastopol-installs-pro-russian-mayor

Authorities in the southern Ukrainian city of Sevastopol have installed a pro-Russian mayor as fears grow that the Kremlin may be stoking separatist sentiment in the region.

Sevastopol's city council handed power to Aleksei Chaliy, a Russian citizen, during an extraordinary session on Monday evening while more than a thousand protesters gathered around city hall chanting "Russia, Russia, Russia," and "A Russian mayor for a Russian city."

Fears are spreading that separatists in Sevastopol, and the Crimean region of which it is a part, could use the power vacuum in Ukraine to seize greater autonomy and deepen ties with Russia.

It was not immediately clear whether local security forces would back Chaliy, but earlier in the day Sevastopol police chief Alexander Goncharov said that his officers would refuse to carry out "criminal orders" issued by Kiev.

Remember: they stoke separatism, we back 'peaceful protesters'

No link but apparently the Telegraph has described the Maidan rioters as 'friendly protesters', wonder what they said about the London rioters?

*tinfoil hat warning* I've been using this website to try and listen to some of the military radio communications that are going out. I often do this, because I'm a massive nerd, at times of big international upheavel you often get a spike in this types of broadcasts as classified orders and stuff are given out. For example when Kim Jong Il died there was a spike, as there also was when the "palace coup" around Bo Xilai happened. It's a good barometer of global stability - if there's shit about to go down you'll see it here first. Usually when I go there there's maybe 2 or 3 people online and a handful of broadcasts, maybe a dozen or so. At the moment there's over 150 people online listening and more broadcasts than I've ever seen before. I'm not any kind of expert on cryptography or spooks etc but I always have a check in at times like to this just to see the lay of the land.

The problem is that you've got to decode the classified ones. Unlike the more old fashioned numbers stations broadcasts these are signals sent with digital encryption (usually something like this) and then have to be decoded manually on top of that as the message will often be just a guy reading out numbers or letters (see here and here) but when you get a big spike in these broadcasts it's usually orders being given to military bases, so if there's shit going down you'll see an increase in these broadcasts

However you can listen to some pretty cool uncrypted stuff (type "11252.92" in the frequency box and have a listen.... ;) )

Sorry for replying to my own post, but the two recordings I put there are apparently a decrypted KY-58 Emergency Action Message communicating with US nuclear submarines earlier on today. Don't go running to your bunker just yet though, it's just what they do if they need to send an urgent set of orders to a nuclear sub (my guess is the code they sent will translate as "get yourself to the black sea ASAP" rather than "press the button and may God have mercy on us all") It's a nice little curiosity though - if the world were to end in nuclear armegeddon that's how it would sound. Consider yourself privileged as very few people will ever hear that.

Nice morse code conversation going on here at this frequency but it keeps shifting around 7020.14 atm but it moves so keep looking. Usually it's hard to find these things you can search for ages but they're popping up all over the place atm. It's quite good fun, when I was little me and my dad used to listen for numbers stations on the old shortwave radio down the end of the garden, staying up to try and listen to the lincolnshire poacher, really sends a shiver down your spine when you hear them for the first time.

Here's a good doc about numbers stations if anyone's interested.

Is that a nickname for something, listening post?

It's the British Numbers Station, based in Cyprus. It's how we communicate with our spooks in the field (or used to, in the cold war. They have to keep them running indefinitely, even if they're broadcasting gibberish, as turning them on and off could give away the timing of our actions. I suspect they're a bit old fashioned now*).

You can tell it's ours because it uses the tune of the folk song of the "lincolnshire poacher" as it's call sign. Example here

Again, there's a wonderful resource called google you might want to familiarise yourself with treelover where all the details you're looking for are readily available.

*EDIT Think it's been shut off now. That's a shame. I haven't checked up on a lot of this stuff in years so little bit out of date

PD cadres should be trained in this.

Here you go apparently this 12464.00 is (apparently) the frequency for the Russian Navy. They don't tend to use the same hi-tech digital encryption as the yanks, and if Yanukovich is hiding on a Russian frigate in Sevastapol waiting for word from Moscow this is how they'll communicate with him.

Now if you start hearing morse code on that frequency try to write down the dots and dashes. Maybe we can work out what his next move will be before the world press?

Then we can enjoy sitting out WW3 in a nice cosy prison cell next to chelsea manning.

*last post on this topic, promise. as you were.

They have big fuck off Very low frequency antenni in cyprus which behaves very oddly for radio waves.
Got into trouble because the cover story it was a water pumping station which we were guarding was a bit pants "isnt that a vlf antenni" isnt what you want to hear when you spent all morning coming up with a clever cover story:)
Not that I really cared guard that
What is it
You dont need to know guard
Yes sir :)

They don't have to. A numbers station used with one-time encryption pads is as secure as anything*.

* So long as the other side doesn't get hold of the pads :) And they have to keep the messages short, per pad.

there are places like that in the UK. Looks like a high tech comms array, is labelled as a water station, never opens. People come and go by night. Nobody says shit about what it is.
