Ukraine

The real issue I have is that that was a very credible article sunny jim posted on the shootings in Kiev and you slurred WDR (quite disingenuosly) as being comparible to The Sun.
Why did you do that?
You're obviously familiar with the show. You knew full well that it's not comparible with The Sun but actually wanted to mislead us to trash the story.
As mentioned, you do come across as having a subjective opinion to this confict. No less so than CR.

Ru
I heard that the whole "Russians are human" myth was a KGB plot. Panorama covered it a few years ago. Worrying times.
russians maybe human.
Their goverment on he overhand really doesnt give a fuck think the worse excessives of the spooks in northern ireland and thats where they start from :(
Fancy a nice cup of tea only slightly glowing:facepalm:?

OK the comparison with the Sun may have been a bit OTT I was basing my opinion on the style of reporting which despite the awards is somewhat sensationalist and that the one story I had some involvement with (Chemical Weapon destruction in Munster) was a pile of shite so full of inaccuracies that it became laughable.
E2A and I was pissed when I posted :D

OK I take back some of what I said about the Russians!

The Russian embassy just sent me a bag of little chocolate Easter eggs :D

E2A If you're reading this, thank you ;)

OK I jumped into this thread after studiously avoiding it for reasons mentioned in fez's "have you engaged in the Ukraine thread" thread. This was the first post I stop at. You read and quote spiked online?

Now I know I'd best disregard anything you say

youve come onto a thread for that specific purpose

thanks for the heads up

They aren't really, it sort of gets obvious when you go back to your room and find your laptop dismantled and the hard-drive missing or a big fuck off motion detector is installed in the corner of the room for "fire safety" reasons or a room approximately 3m x 3m is fitted with 6 smoke detectors etc etc Oh and I don't spend much time in Moscow I'm usually out in the sticks.

So its not just us who think you're CIA then?

So its not just us who think you're CIA then?
And it's not just you who is wrong and obviously not just the Russian government and military who are paranoid.
So how come me doing my work in other countries does not result in this reaction, also if the Russians had any misgivings they are perfectly within their rights to bar me from the country for official purposes (a right they have used in the past with others). But no it's always stupid games, fucking around and amateur spy crap.

Russian goverment response starts at heavy handed paranoia and only escalates:mad:
Other goverments maybe shit but tend not to throw journolists from roofs or plant bombs in their own capital:(

you hail from a country that is militarily , politically and diplomatically hostile towards russia . Very often people in your line of work are spies, because your government and its intelligence services subvert the line of work youre in for their own purposes . makes it hard to trust you .

i experienced similar type of shit regularly simply travelling back and forth between 2 parts of the united kingdom in the early 90s, namely between belfast and either london, manchester or leeds . Officialdom at various airports and ferry terminals was extremely hostile and inquisitive, and me a mere traveller going about my daily business. I tend not to colour all british people with that brush though .

Maybe, but we are covered by Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, every other country we go to tends to respect the rights we are entitled to under that convention so ever so slightly different situation to someone being hassled by low level officials who are on a power trip. Also these measures are used against all of us and not just those from less friendly states. I have colleagues from over 80 nations, are they all enemies of Russia?
Also where have I coloured all Russian people in any way? I am currently working with a couple of really good Russians who are excellent colleagues.

Daniel Morgan, while not proved as of yet, was very fishy vis-a-vis journalist getting too close to the truth about police corruption and got an axe through his skull for his troubles.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...lved-murder-mysteriously-missing-9239662.html

Douglas Hogg, a home office minister in 1989, told MPs in the Commons that some of Northern Ireland solicitors were "unduly sympathetic to the cause of the IRA" just weeks before Belfast lawyer Pat Finucane was murdered.

"I have no doubt that there are lawyers walking the streets or driving on the roads of the north of Ireland who have become targets for assassins' bullets as a result of the statement that has been made tonight," he said. "Following the minister's statement, people's lives are in danger."

Just under a month later, loyalist gunmen shot dead Mr Finucane at his home. On learning of the killing Mr Hogg issued a statement.

Wonder if that will change after the Snowden leaks.
Unlikely, because to be honest any intelligence gathered from us wouldn't be worth the effort (IMO). I'm quite willing to share any files I have on my laptop if they asked it's just all these little espionage games that get on my tits.

rosemary nelson was highlighted by the united nations as a human rights lawyer who was at great personal risk from the British government. A united nations commitee specifically asked the British government to ensure her safety...asked them not to kill her basically. Shes testified before a US congressional hearing that she was risk of being killed by the British government. The united states congress told the British government they were watching and expected her not to be killed.

Not a single fuck was given. They still killed her anyway.

the exceptional bit is presumably that its exceptionally rare for the UK state to get caught or hold up its hands- at least, not for 30 odd years

because the uk state investigates its own atrocities, and generally...always... exonerates itself

for fucks sake they still insist the wiping out of almost half the Irish population was because of something they bizarrely describe as a potato famine...a phenomonon that hasnt been seen or experienced by anyone else in the human race or on Gods earth anywhere or at any time. Because theres no such fucking thing. But they even teach this to kids in school . Absolutely mad propaganda.

And this has what exactly to do with what I posted?

you quoted vienna conventions on protected persons as if international law actually meant anything. Your own government plainly doesnt give a stuff for it. At least you werent bumped off.

Although its early days yet since youve eaten those eggs. After what youve been posting about Russians here I wouldnt have eaten them.

Still can't see any connection between your post and mine.

Maybe I'm just not a paranoid fantasist like some. Plus I tested them on two Serbians and a Russian before I tried them :D

the connection is the British government actually kill people, such as lawyers and journalists, whose job it is to place their system under scrutiny. While you are just being mildly hassled.
I still don't see any connection to what I wrote.
