Its won shit loads of prestigious awards as well. I think Fuchs66 just wanted to pour some doubt on its claims, by making up some bullshit. Which is quite ironic.
Nope like I said haven't seen the report and am quite inebriated at the moment (OK The Sun was a bit much as a comparison but I have personal experience of Monitor being somewhat liberal with the truth)

They misquoted me!
Like I said I can't say if they are wrong here I just don't trust them anymore.

That and the fact that he seems to bear grudges (see the quote above)
Probably also expalins the xenophobia towards Russians too.

Define my xenophobia towards Russians I'd be quite interested.

No just my experience in Russia has taught me to expect stupid shit from them, to expect them to try and gain access to information (no matter how innocuous or uninteresting I think it is) and yes to try and manipulate opinions no matter what level. And before you start with the old "stop picking on the Russians" shit, I am fully aware that they are not the only country doing this, its just that other countries tend to do it a bit more carefully and try not to get caught.
Sounds very much like the Russian way of doing things tbh. :D
Very probably true in this case too, but just every now and then the answers certain posters give are just too similar to the party line from Moscow, and seeing as certain Russian organisations have been funding posters and bloggers to push the party line, it just sets the alarm bells off in the back of my head.
Maybe they do, or maybe they just can't help themselves slipping back into cold war actions because that's the default setting.

The second form of xenophobia is primarily cultural, and the objects of the phobia are cultural elements which are considered alien.

All those quotes quite obviously refer to the Russian government.
tbf, yes he did say his opinions were based on the "political/official structure". Political and official structures also tend to reflect national cultural identities.
IMO Fuchs' experience with that particular Russian "political/official structure" seems to have impared his objective judgement in some of the discussions here to the point of showing xeenophobia.
For every UN Organisation employee that may have had a bit of an undiplomatic welcome in Russia, there are thousands (millions) of ordinary citizens that have fallen foul to the US or UK governments "diplomacy" on our own soil.
I think we can all agree here, that pretty much every government in the world is full of cunts (maybe with the exception of Bhutan). Personally, right now, I don't think Putin's being any more a cunt than our own bunch of fuckwits

Well so far I've worked in the US, France, Italy, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Rep., Netherlands, China, Libya, Russia and Syria and Russia is the only country where we experience problems of this kind, every single time.

I have never said that on a personal level I have anything against Russians I have made some very good Russian friends, this is a systematic problem there that has its basis in official paranoia.

Really? Do you want to consider this with the case of your government?

Russian goverment response starts at heavy handed paranoia and only escalates:mad:
Other goverments maybe shit but tend not to throw journolists from roofs or plant bombs in their own capital:(

If they were spying on you and you knew about it, they can't be that great spies. This is the image I have of your trip to Moscow.

They aren't really, it sort of gets obvious when you go back to your room and find your laptop dismantled and the hard-drive missing or a big fuck off motion detector is installed in the corner of the room for "fire safety" reasons or a room approximately 3m x 3m is fitted with 6 smoke detectors etc etc Oh and I don't spend much time in Moscow I'm usually out in the sticks.
