Things to look out for in Lidl and Aldi

Aldi has vegan-friendly chocolate-covered physalis berries.
Not quite as moreish as chocolate covered nuts and raisins, but quickly demolished ...

And I could actually do with a new coir doormat, but the ones in Aldi have all sorts of twee crap printed on them :(

Presumably just for the weekend they had 37 piece screwdriver bit sets and various kinds of drill bits for 99p a pack - there's a reason I usually pay at least £1 for a screwdriver bit - but they probably aren't impossibly awful for light work..

I hope Aldi's French wine selection improves soon - I will probably have to dip into my cellar again before long...

Not Aldi or Lidl but Tesco are doing Haig Club clubman at 31% discount. £15 for 70cl bottle. In a nice blue bottle so worth a buy if you have someone who likes whisky but is a difficult christmas present or you like a drop yourself. Sorry to derail thread but could not be bothered to start a Tesco one. :)

It's the light up wellies and really good waterproof fleece lined kids' coats and trousers in LIDL this week. I went yesterday to get in early but discovered that the coats only go up to age 8 annoyingly (and we already have one of those). The trousers go up to age 10 though. I managed to get one pair of light up, sheepskin lined wellies for my littlest "BEST MUM EVER!!!!" was her response.

There were two women fighting in Todmorden Lidl last week. I didn't see it but wolfie did. A couple of years ago I saw two women fighting outside that same Lidl.

Anyway there's stollen and Panettone on the shelves now :)

Were they the same women?

Last year I bought some excellent sheepskin slippers from Aldi. I think they were £15. I'm hoping they will have them again as they make good christmas presents. If anyone sees them give us a shout.
