The stupidity of the anti-vaxx nutcases

I know it's not generally ok to mock those who catch a life threatening bout of covid after refusing to get vaccinated but here's one where we can all cheer on the virus.

My "vaccine sceptical" friend and his GF, early 30s have got covid. Didnt take long. think she's poorlier than he is. theyve also missed their holiday. :(

I don't take any satisfacion in any of these right wing loons ending up in hospital or dying tbh. so many other good people are put at risk and are suffering in the process.

I must be tired - I briefly misread that as "my vaccine sceptical friend and his GP".

In other news, my housemate allowed me to hand-feed the cat some Dreamies tonight, so hopefully he's got over his paranoia about vaccine shedding.

you've probably stopped shedding and are about to die now, so he moved onto palliative care
e2a: might sound a bit dark btu some of them would think like this
e2a2: probably not a subject best broached with them

I don't take any satisfaction from regular people who have fallen for the 'vaccine skeptic' argument getting ill. However, when prominent disinfo spreaders get struck down with it, my thought process runs more along the lines of "fuck 'em"...

Since the FDA approved the Pfizer vaccine a few days ago the loons are misreading the documents and trying to say it is a different vaccine, there was apparently a massive shift in the force when they all moved their goalposts at the same time.

As long as they're all moving in the same direction towards the edge of their flat earth, that's the main thing.

Anti-vax conservative radio hosts seem to be dropping like flies.

These are deep-state actors to fool the sheeple.... or something.

I'm trying to find a source which isn't The Daily Mail for this - but it appears the UK is now home to armed anti-vaxx types who are willing to
protest (broadly defined) vaccine centres and the like in their pursuit against medicine. "Veterans 4 Freedom", apparently, which makes me think of a Dad's Army of anti-everythings hoping to ape American-style/Proud Boys-style movements.

I got my second jab yesterday, and there was not a single squeak of anti-vaxx fuckery at the local place I went.

As for arms, what are they carrying, BB guns or water pistols?

There was mention of a group like that pushing the Freeman of the land stuff, including running training. They also looked like they were 'body guarding' that ex-nurse anti-vax fruitloop at one of the recent demos. Can't find the link to hand.

I'm back at work after being g off most of the year.....anyway 2nd day in and the quiet softly spoken pharmacy assistant that comes to restock the drugs cupboard.....mentions she has not been vaccinated and will not be vaccinated.....now I actually believe that is her choice....but what pissed me off is that when I asked her if she was lft x2 per week she claimed to know nothing about it....at which point I explained that she could get a box from the hospital pharmacy she works in or get them from local govt. She wasn't listening......HOW CAN YOU WORK IN A MAJOR TEACHING HOSPITAL AND NOT KNOW YOU CAN ACCESS LFT'S TO TEST AT HOME?
The answer is ...she does know and does not give a shit. The selfish woman comes to work unvaccinated, not testing, goes to many different wards each day.....

I'm going to have to bring this up with my managers....

One bit of bullshit is that the lft swab has some kind of toxic stuff on it that poisons people when they use it. She probably takes that line.

This is why I've got no problem with mandatory vaccines for things like this in healthcare settings (with obvious exceptions for those who can't have the vaccine for medical reasons). It's totally selfish and could end up killing a patient.

IMO - Those in patient facing roles (even indirect or sporadic) must be vaccinated & lft at least twice a week, also isolate when indicated ...

to me that is plain common sense and only fair to the people being cared for / treated.
Also keeping suspected covid cases isolated, with dedicated areas & staff ... Tyneside has kept one hospital in that mode.

Yes, only after passing it onto other staff or I suppose what's just as likely is that it will get passed to her as being double vaxed does not prevent it being passed on afaik.

She does not have a patient facing role at all, however as we know with the delta varient it seems you just have to walk past someone. My point is not so much about her choosing not to be vaccinated as it is about her choosing not to test.
All hospitals keep covid and suspected cases isolated and in a dedicated area. As they do with any very infectious disease.

I still think patients are more likely to aquire covid from staff because we get so close and are around hundreds of people every day.

Wankers
Took the dogs out this morning and there's a bus stop just outside my house. 2 sheep in facemask stickers and a "no covid pass" sticker in red, white and black with swastikas on it. Needless to say they aren't there now.

If I had had a marker pen on me I should have changed it to "no covid morons" and got rid of the swastikas.
