Brilliant. There is an anti lockdown protest going on today. Yes, TODAY. You couldnt make it up.
Maybe Twitter and FB should make everything these weirdos post appear in green ink.certified loon, she blocked someone I follow on facebook who was trying to reason
they probably perceive the current restrictions and obligations in regard to public health as lockdown measures and probably won’t accept that the lockdown is over until everything is exactly the same as beforeAre you sure it's not just a celebratory gathering for the end of restrictions? Dumb as they are, nobody could have missed the build-up to today.
Don't give them ideas.Next week they're organising a demo against the introduction of the decimal system.
At least it's not quite as nasty as the library refuseniks - with them it's always 'I blame the Dewey, I can't find the book I'm interested in and it's all because of the Dewey' etcNext week they're organising a demo against the introduction of the decimal system.
It's all going a bit friendly fire

Indeed, but (and I say this generally rather than in defence of the stupid decisions the gov has made) part of taking real science and acting on it is observing, adapting, testing etc. Good science admits when it's wrong and these idiots see that as a flaw rather then the way things should be.But the quack is at least consistent in their idiocy. The authorities running the country have flip flopped on advice, backtracked, changed things at the last minute, broken their own rules…. None of that builds faith or trust.

you say that like the introduction of the decimal system was an unmitigated Good Thing and anyone who opposes it must be mad. tell you what, if it's such a grand notion then why isn't it applied to time?Next week they're organising a demo against the introduction of the decimal system.

pounds shillings and pence in many ways a much more sensible system than the one we've ended up with, which is solely based on the number of fingers most people have (and the pre-decimal coinage lives on in the way we learn up to the 12 x table).Only inertia really. It would take something like a massive globe-spanning empire to do it, or perhaps some new religion or philosophy that utterly takes the world by storm. Base-60 time has been with us since the Babylonians IIRC, whereas £Sd wasn't around nearly as long.
100% agree. It's embarrassing, these privileged simpletons and their fantasy oppression. It must enrage people in countries without adequate access to the vaccines to watch these idiots waste it.

oh i'm not making the case for farthings or groatsNot sure how it's sensible to have more than one sub-denomination in today's economy. I've never needed to pay for anything in fractions of a penny. A penny is already pretty damn fractional right now!

Ah but you can get exact amounts if you're dividing anything between 2, 3, 4 or 6 people - not just the miserly 2 and 5 of a decimal system.
quite soThat's one for sasaferrato.
pah it'll all be done by computer soon, then societies with multiples of 2, 3, 4 or 6 people will outcompete ...Ease of general calculation is more important these days than ease of division. I know I've never had such problems.

It's not just cakes though, is it. Any thing that can be counted.
