The Republican Election Challenges

So let's look at what the point of this (and this whole campaign) is. The video isn't worth fisking, it contradicts itself several times (the process is too slow, no it's too quick) and has no facts behind it, but that's not the point. It's about raising a doubt in the system that's plausible to the minds of a group of people who will happily pick that up for other reasons entirely; it gives them psychological backup for denying a result.

This happens every election of course. A bunch of liberals went mad saying that Trump's win was fabricated by Russia. Dems went mad when Bush was (re-)elected. Republicans went mad when Obama was (re-)elected. All fraud, voting machines, hacking etc. Every time people say "oh but this is an entirely new situation" and so far it hasn't been. What it does do is deliberately exacerbate factionalism.

Trump has just made this announcement ^

This comes on the back of numerous election voter fraud hearings throughout the US with the suggestion of more to come.

Looks like things are starting to get very spicy.

It started welll, but he's still attacking the result and not conceding.
At some stage somebody is going to sue him for bad faith claims

Trump reminds me of that Japanese soldier who kept fighting World War II for decades after it was over and refused to surrender until they brought over his commanding officer to say it was OK - he's clearly unwilling to admit defeat to Joe Biden so maybe they should get a hologram of Fred Trump to tell him he's a loser.

I am actually honestly pissed off btw. I don't see why I should read through endless self-righteous, hypocritical post reports when it's clear people just want to spam somebody. Facebook is only a click away if you want that. Any reports about Marty1 from people spamming this are just going to get deleted and maybe even warned.

What do you get out of this Marty1 Do you genuinely think the CIA, US courts, Republican secretaries of state, Republican appointed judges, election officials, competing software companies have all somehow conspired to keep this brilliant man from a second term?... Nah course you don't . I don't think you're actually that mental. What's in it for you?

from the election thread.

They've started to ask people from the crowd to come up on stage and ask them questions. The first one is "what should I say to people who think I am crazy?".

:D

they were all bought off by Venezuelan communists, which explains why Venezuala is skint

Watching this on the Xmas Urban setting with the falling snow somehow feels fitting. It's a fairytale.
I've been getting that thing where something makes you think 'cool, this feels like being in a film (or on TV or whatever)' a lot recently. Then I remember I read a lot of dystopian fiction...
