The Championship 2018/19 thread

(plus we appear to be two places higher than Millwall - how the feck did that happen)
Although we have played the so called bigger teams, we have been shit, found out tactically and have a manager limited to hoof ball. The loss of Saville to boro is big factor, goals and brain, add to the fact we have players unhappy they were refused bigger money moves ( don't sign a contract and then ask to leave you greedy cunts] all the ingredients for a long hard season.

Great result for us, tho I do have to highlight Villa's goal, possibly one of the best I've seen for a while, so sweetly hit..

In the second half Wednesday were fantastic, easily best performance of the season (certainly best I've seen). Frustrating we can't play like that a bit more consistently

And Villa's goal was stunning - I thought we'd crumble when that went in. Now for dirty L**ds .....

Friday night fun, looking forward to it.

Weird old night at The Den last night sealion. I know it was practically a reserve game but blimey I was surprised by the Millwall turn out. We filled the away end more or less. Made for a very strange and flat atmosphere. The gate was 5800. I've been told the top deck of away end holds 2200 but at the time everyone thought there were more Fulham fans at the game.

15-year-old Harvey Elliott became Fulham's youngest player last night. I'd left before he'd come on though. Steven Sessegnon looks like he is going to be a fine player. Nowhere near his brothers level yet but certainly a good prospect.

Got to be honest, I thought Millwall looked very poor and I'm surprised by your form so far this season (so far) but its early days. We had a dreadful start last year and ended up going up.

I wasn't, it was expected. Just had Qpr and West brom away, we sold our allocation for both, train fares = money gone. Add to the fact we are playing shit, and no disrespect here but, Fulham or more over Fulhams reserves in a nothing cup match was never going to excite anyone.

I read about Elliot, good luck to him!

We are poor atm, whispers of players not happy about missing out on big wage moves, missing the spine of last seasons team and predictable tactics aren't helping. We will probably go down this season, our five year cycle of joy then pain is at the pain stages :D

I may be wrong as i wasn't there, but for games like last nights that stand is never opened.

Took me 8 minutes to walk to to ground from my flat!

I was in peckham last night and couldn't be arsed. The place is really dull when no ones up for it. Sheffield united on Saturday will be loud with an edge as they bring a large vocal following.

To be honest I decided very very last minute but thought it mad not to go and see Fulham play 10 minutes away when I often travel across town of from Brighton to do it. I think our large away support was due to the fact there's understandably a lot of affection for several of the players who played last night from last seasons team who are getting a lot less game time in the Prem plus £15 is a lot cheaper than what we have to pay for a game now too.

The league cup should be ditched (or made for the non-prem divisions only) imo. Would make the FA cup a bit more special again too.

Just had a look at the official stats from our club site. 5,839 gate, 2,054 fulham. I know some fans buy tickets for these games to bump up there loyalty points for future away games, they don't necessarily go to the cup game. I'm surprised that many turned up. I know a few Fulham lads that went because thay can't afford the premier prices and hadn't seen them play live this season.

Agreed, the big clubs only take it serious if they make the quaters/semi's. The fa cup was a special event when i was younger.

Yep. No doubt that was the case. 100%. If we were still in the Championship this season it probably would have been half the amount.

Sadly not... wife's working so I have the kids.

You?

Cautiously optimistic....
Yes i'm going but not very confident of getting any points. We can't score and our defence is slapdash, where as you lot have been scoring high in some games. It should be noisy from both sets of fans, i'm hoping this might get the players fired up, Harris can't do this with the tactics he employs. All in all i'm still looking forward to this as i always do when we meet, proper club you lot!

Yeah - sad to miss it as it's a good day out as well as being nice and close.

Also love it as it reminds me of seeing Derek Geary's only ever goal in 200 odd games.

Ryan Leonard has been given permission to play by United, he's obviously not feared by your manager. Billy Sharp will score for you!

Nah, he said its because its not a proper loan as there's a permanent move agreed
This loan thing is another loophole in the transfer window. Saville is on loan to Boro although we sold him for £8m. I would rather Leonard didn't play most weeks :D

We've done the same thing with Norwood. TBH I don't really mind it - I dont think it's really giving anyone an advantage I dont think.

Agreed, i think it's just a way of getting last minute deals over the line.

How many tickets did Leeds get? I pressume a fair bit of empties due to segregation, still only 26k for a big derby with both teams doing well isn't great.
