The Championship 2018/19 thread

I've honestly no idea about him...is he any good (ignoring the cost)?
He is a good player, clever, calm and can score from distance as well as picking a pass. He puts himself about considering he's not a lump.

What kind of player is he? Just wondering where he slots in (if at all...)
Centre mid, floats about in front of the back four, holds up the ball well and drives forward when allowed. Scores quite a few from outside the box, he has a mean shot on him.

So he's a Clayton clone with a better shot. Can see why the forums were saying he won't play.

Whats happend to Leadbitter? I believe we were offered him as part of the deal, but he didn't want to move down south.
Embarassingly, I don't know.

His partnership with Clayton when Karanaka was in charge was immense, but tbh, he's just not good enough anymore. He is/was the captain...great guy, and a 'decent' footballer, but sadly I think we've probably moved on.

A few years ago he probably would've been a Pulis fav, but although he's not that old, he's just at that tipping point, and he's never been amazing. Just consistently solid. Lots of Boro fans slagged him off (his nickname is Leadboots) but he's been a great player for us in the championship era. Exactly what we needed, and could do with a younger version of him now.

blues are somewhat miraculously playing some entertaining football so far but just can't score (unsurprisingly when your strike force is lucas jutkiewitz and omar boggle!) 0-0 at home to qpr today, qpr set up for a draw i thought and were a mediocre team. still, garry monk is doing a good job considering the problems he's facing and i was pleased to see the blades result - vilers round here have been as arrogant as ever lately, esp. since they signed tammy.

this bloke is a bit cringey, but slightly lolworthy in a cheesy kind of way - NSFW though.

edit - forget it, can't get link to work, was crap anyway.

I know they aren't in the championship anymore, but anyone who thinks there isn't something fishy going on at Wolves is delusional. They won the title last season, but almost certainly did it by unfair means. When will the powers that be wake up?

Wolves send nine player on loan to FC Jumilla
Watford have been doing the same for ages, there's fishy stuff going on at most clubs. You'd be delusional to think otherwise.

A decent game yesterday and one we could have nicked late on. Leeds looked good in parts but didn't get a chance to dominate us, only the post saving them late on. It might have been different if Leeds had there two key men playing, all in all a draw and probably a fair result.

As much as I admire the spectacle of giving the opposition a 2-0 lead and only then starting to play, I can't imagine it's going to work too well for Wednesday this season.

Yet we keep doing it.

Bad result tonight sealion, you're gonna have trouble containing Harvey Barnes on Saturday. His pace is electric.
We are shit at the moment, Harris persists with the long ball and doesn't seem to have a plan b. We have lost the spine of our team in selling Saville to boro (he scored for them yesterday)and a central defender to injury, Morrison's legs have gone so doesn't play as much, plus his influence on the pitch is clearly missed. We have been sussed out by opposing teams and are in for a season of struggle. It's a shame because we have bought in some good players but Harris won't play them or change his tactics to accomodate them. Qpr played some decent football, had a game plan and deserved to win, maybe by a bigger margin to be fair.

A quick mention to the seven Qpr hoolies that ran up the road at us, screaming come on you cunts whilst bouncing up and down and arm waving. They got laughed at and ran off when one of ours showed them how its done. Enjoy your soup through a straw you silly cunt :D

lol @ qpr, we've also had some minor run-ins with them the last few years. It seems really badly organized outside their ground as well, was a bad crush outside the turnstiles two years ago, could've been serious. As for us, we're playing quite well, we just can't score, as Sheff Utd would attest last night I think. Monk is doing a brilliant job in the circumstances. We're facing a 10 point deduction though, in which case, I think we'll finally go down. All part of the fun though innit.

Yeah we dodged a bullet last night

They blocked off roads and put up metal barriers to funnel us into the ground. There was also two ticket checkpoints leading to the ground, my mate walked through both and got into the ground ticketless! It's a souless hole and was half empty for a derby game.

Was a poor game, sealion your lot looked shit, shocking start for the Millwall
I know its a very hard league but getting beat like that against QPR is not good.

We were proper shit last night but nearly beat Leeds on Saturday, thats us all over at the moment. We have played 4 teams that will fight for promoton and done okay, so i won't panic just yet.

been watching the highlights of the leeds vs PNE game. Fee-flowing, fast attacking football, full of constant movement - best ive seen from them in over 15 years - and Samuel Saiz is on fire. Bielsa looks to be a magician with the way he has turned last seasons fragile blowhards into barcelona or something. must. not. get. excited ......

What bunch of cunts you are. it's 2018 and you still think it's funny to have grown men acting like chimps, knocking each other out.

Fuck off.
it's 2018 and you still think it's funny to have grown men acting like chimps, knocking each other out.
I would say the same if it was one of ours, like i said, a silly cunt. I was there, as were people with there kids and these cunts turn up trying that, fuck him he got what he deserved.

And a first home win of the season for Reading too.

reports suggest that Hull were complete shite, and may be one of the required "three teams worse than us" .

But a home win, on a Saturday too.

Still, Clement Out.

(plus we appear to be two places higher than Millwall - how the feck did that happen)
