The Championship 2018/19 thread

Baggies are crap at the moment, game today was so frustrating, huge parts of the game there’s just no pace, one player bombing up the field whilst everyone else stands around doing fuck all. Finally got my selfie with boiler man though, it’s the little things that get you through innit. [emoji41] ;)

I was up there too today, it was absolutely freezing. I don't think even meeting boiler man could have warmed me up.
Baggies seem to have run out of ideas. Big Dave is well respected but may not be the right guy for the job.

It was crazy cold wasn’t it?! There weren’t a lot of fans where we were sitting so we didn’t even have the benefit of additional body warmth.

I’m worried that people will turn against Big Dave, my fear is he leaves in disgrace which would be a terrible way for him to end his time at the club after everything and all his history with us. I don’t want miracles, I don’t even want incredible football, just decent consistency would be nice. We have some good players in the team but you wouldn’t know it after our recent performances.

What a job monk is doing, very good manager, you can see a properly organized team with a clear plan out there. Even potus is worried about wednesday though.

All serious tho, we can't defend to save our lives, injuries are an issue but we can't blame that entirely

Yeah he's a Handsworth boy and Baggies thru and thru so hopefully he will be treated with respect no matter what happens.
The people behind me were quite critical but then again they slagged off every Baggies player. I go along with an Albion mate and i ask him often whether we're in the away end :D

Do you reckon Mr Jokanavic has run out of ideas and/or was that surge to the premiership a bit premature.
Wolves seem to have hit a bit of a roadblock too.

Probably should be on football betting thread but 3 of the 6 bets in my Acca were Championship form teams, Blues, Millwall and Norwich. Add to that Luton Coventry and Eastliegh for a 100-1 bet, I only put a cheeky quid on but was still happy to buy a dial in curry and a bottle of whiskey to defrost after a bitter cold afternoon at the Hawthorns.

We were doing ok until arsenal where we were 1-1 at half time and more than holding our own. Final score 1-5. And that keeps happening and confidence has completely gone now. 2nd half capitulation. Game after game.

We would have been better off sticking with the first team from last season. We might have gone down but with much more of a fight. But we spent £100 million very very late in the summer and a lot of last years players can’t get s look in which had caused division in a once very united squad. We are fucked.

Jokanavic Will be sacked soon which seems a bit silly as he took over a right shower of shit and transformed us into a very classy side in the championship and would get us promoted next season too imo.

But some of his team selections and substitutes are baffling. It feels like he pulls names out of a hat.

The standard seems to have improved in the premiership a lot since we were last here.
 
Blimey, Norwich top, where did that come from?

Derby looking strong, Baggies falling down.
Is it the Sheffield derby soon?
 
Friday night. I fear the worst, particularly if Dawson plays in goal.

I didn’t think Norwich looked that good in the first half plus they missed one of the worst penalties I’ve ever seen. But very clinical in the second although aided by shambolic Wednesday defending.

Players who couldn't get in the team last year are staring games - Christie, Kamara etc

Agree with the last 3 lines & that we're fucked though.
 
Preston's Paul Gallagher comes on in the 72nd minute against Ipswich and within a minute scores an equalising goal. Fast forward five minutes and Preston's goalkeeper gets sent off. Gallagher decides to go in goal and pulls off a spectacular save. Gallagher arrives home later than night to discover a letter from Roy Race's lawyers on his doormat, informing him that Roy is suing him "for stealing my fucking life".

 
One of the reasons I’m looking forward to being back in the championship next season. Prices below are for our game against West Ham in a few weeks. This is fucking obscene.

£30 was expensive last season. Is not all about the costs though. Life in the Championship has many more benifits
 
Big sigh of relief on the Owls side of Sheffield I reckon. I thought it was gonna be 3 or 4 nil. Fair play to Wednesday.

Didn't really have anyone to get on the end. Loads of corners but none looked threatening
We're missing something to turn possession in to goals, loads of our games end up like that

Hope sealion is ok... Quiet here without him.

Good win for blades tonight, been a bit of an iffy run so good to be winning again before the big game against Leeds at the weekend. I hate that match almost as much as the derby.
 
Reading managed to miss an injury time penalty that would have given us a point at Leeds. Bollocks.

But, yeah, where is sealion ? Maybe he's quiet cos Millwall are struggling? That doesn't seem like him though?

be happy with a point against Shef Utd. Agree that will be a tight game.

League still very open with nobody running away with it.
Ipswich probably fucked though.
