The BIG ONE: Crystal Palace vs Cardiff City, 8th March

That means nothing really. Wigan had 60% of the possession against City at the weekend but most of that was faffing around. Look at some of Arsenal's stats this season in games they failed to win. Well upward of 60%.
Perhaps, but it means a bit more when it's being backed by my own I-was-at-the-game-and-saw-it-with-my-own-eyes opinion. I still totally stand by this:
Cardiff were too busy showing off their clever passing skills to bother with anything as irksome as a shot on goal. It was strange game: it's like Cardiff were playing chess and Palace tiddlywinks: we'd entertain ourselves with well executed build ups with lots of passing (until inevitably losing the ball) whereas Palace just hoofed it up the park and went for it - a strategy that proved to be the winner.

Despite our Prima-Donna's show-boating there was no real substance to our game. We were mostly ineffective in our build up play, and Palace's fullbacks had Bellamy and Emmanuel-Thomas in their pockets for 90 mins. In the end a gritty and determined Palace side outfought us and deservedly nicked 3 points (with a bit of luck of course). I wish the Bluebirds would show a bit more heart and hard work just like those plucky Eagles. Well done on winning such a tightly contested battle.

HTH :D

You're not that far short (Cardiff's tactics were all wrong) but even Palace fan Maggot - who, unlike you, was at the game - concedes that you were lucky to win. Very lucky, in fact. Enjoy your three points because you need them.

Did Cardiff get allocated the whole of the side of the ground, then?
Half of the 'long' side of the pitch, or it may have been more. We brought plenty down, everyone stood throughout and outsung the home crowd for most of the time until they scored and the silent majority woke up and - gasp! - even stood up for a moment.

To be fair to Palace, the left hand side of the Holmesdale End always stand. And most away supporters stand anyway, not just at Selhurst.

It was a much reduced performance from the Holmesdale End who in the past have put in a few good songs. Most of the time it was just that fucking annoying drummer, pointlessly thumping away to himself.

The Homlesdale Ultras! :D

Have they got a guy with a loud speaker yet?
