Is this photo from Berkeley yesterday? WTF? You quite obviously have a nazi saluting alongside black Trump voters and the unsullied known as proud boys (they are not allowed to masturbate apparently). I think it goes to show how difficult it is to label all Trump voters as one entity, and that leads to the question of whether or not the tactics of the anti-trump protestors yesterday were the correct ones to follow or not. They chose direct action and confrontation. Was this a conservative or a fascist gathering?
In one interview an anti-trump protestor described the rally as an unacceptable white supremacist gathering but the above photo doesn't bear that out. Neither do the youtubers who spoke either. It's a tad confusing.
When obvious nazi groups or KKK march and get a beating I cheer, but I'm not sure how to view this Berkeley punch up.
It also looks like after the police withdrew, the Trump supporters got the upper hand. Maybe that was the intention.

Yes, That article makes the motives of the counter-protest organisers much clearer although it only manages to identify about 4 neo nazis.
What is surprising is the video embedded at the bottom of the article which shows the people from the trump camp celebrating their "victory" afterwards, because you see a group containing hispanics and what look like normal trump supporters with two black men giving the lead. They see the antifa being driven off as a victory, oblivious, it would seem to the nature of their fellow rally goers.

Why is this so strange? While I'm not saying that all of these people are fascists, they aren't, the fact that they aren't uniformly white is not evidence of anything really. Most historical fascist movements, including frankly Nazism, have not had a 'one drop' rule on race.

So, my apologism for rightism consists of agreeing with physical force tactics against obvious fascist mobilizations (nazis/kkk) but questions whether those same tactics were valid against a predominantly trump supporter gathering at this particular event. Therefore, duh, it's apologism for rightism.
The stuff at berkeley was hardly Cable street or Lewisham 77 was it. A bunch of conservatives (including black and hispanics) with what, a dozen outright nazis camoflaged amongst them and a few wierdos dressed as action man.

A twitter thread from an account I've not come across before, so caveat emptor etc.
- Drove by the park prior to the rally. Cops and Fascists were joking, having a great time.
- As soon as antifascists arrived, police took positions on the flanks of antifa.
- About 30 more police came from the Berkeley Police Department behind the comrades down to the park.
- They surrounded the comrades and confiscated everything.
- They took black flags and flag poles. As well as homemade shields made to protect fellow comrades.
- at the same time the neonazis were walking around in tac vests, armor and as photos have shown, knives.
- immediately comrades began to call out the scumbag fascists.
- As the snowflake fascists were getting laughed at for perfectly embodying the MAGA stereotypes
- Skinny jeans wearing frat boys who were coincidentally calling Comrades and workers on our side, spoiled, wealthy.
- When most of the comrades at the line were POC from Berkeley, Oakland and surrounding areas.
- While these scumbags came into our community from places as far as Montana, Colorado and Southern California.
- Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, Transphobia, all of it was on display. Not surprising of course.
- Antiblack racism was a big one. Much of it leveled towards black comrades that rolled out with Antifa.
- Mockingly chanting blue lives matter, all lives matter and other variants of this sort.
- At every opportunity when the Fascists tried to engage the comrades, they were put down swiftly and with incredible ferocity.
