The all boxing thread

So pleased for Daniel, I really like him. Great career ahead of him. Watched it in the pub, might need to watch again tomorrow. My fella had money on Dubois to win by ko rounds 4-12, that round one knock down was  :D

the comment from everyone and the other boxers were hardly complementary

plus as number shows was a good day for an outsider bet :p

you called him dumb as a bag of hammers :)
I never mentioned hammers!

I've got loads of respect for him as a boxer, I always thought he has all the attributes except maybe boxing intelligence but his last few fights have seen him improve so much. And last night he put it all together very well.

jesus remind me never to get you onto politics :D

you and everyone thought DDD was toast yesterday

so fair play for him for coming thru it :D

Beterbiev vs Bivol tomorrow night, can't wait.

I prefer Beterbiev's aggressive style but Bivol is a better boxer for sure, and with Beterbiev coming back from a knee injury it's a tough one to call.

I can see Bivol stopping him so am taking a punt on 11th round stoppage/retirement for Bivol @ 55/1.

I'm Team Bivol after he humbled Canelo. As to who will win, classic puncher v boxer etc. Beterbiev pushing 40 but, in further clichés, last thing to go is your power. If Bivol concentrates for 12 rounds, he wins.

My money is on Beterbiev. I think he's got the power to knock out anyone in this weight division and you can't argue with a 20 fight, 20 win, 20 KO record.

Proper pick ‘em fight isn’t it.

I just wonder how much the knee injury may affect Beterbiev, especially if Bivol boxes at distance with the usual great movement, how much will the knee be tested? Saying that tho’ Beterbiev is a master at cutting down the ring.

I can’t really see Bivol knocking him out in normal circumstances but can see a retirement if the knee isn’t up for the full 12.

Potentially a fight for the ages.

Really looking forward to it. Just seen the undercard too, some good fights on there, Wardley Clarke rematch, Whittaker, Opetaia and um.. Eubank Jnr again. Might be another 6 hour marathon. 😁

Well, I've never seen that happen before.

Both fighters went over the ropes. Whittaker too injured to continue. Scores were drawn.

Widespread suspicions. 😁

We bloody missed it because the kids had scooby doo on and we didn't see the time. Fella's pissed off because that's his acca out the window  it's all hanging on Clarke doing Wardley now :D

Sounds like the end of the Whittaker fight was akin to the end of a Royal Rumble when the last 2 men both go out at the same time? 😮

Women up now, should be a good contest.

I can't call the main event, maybe Bivol by decision if I absolutely had to.

Both of them are so good. I thought Bivol had got it tbh but can see how they gave it to Beterbiev. Great fight though.

Certainly didn't expect to see Ramzan Kadyrov turn up in the ring afterwards. 😁

Didn't see it but most of the round by round or reports I've seen suggest Bivol a bit unlucky. Not robbed but deserved at least a draw.

Just seen a bit of the post-fight press conference and what a charmless cunt Hearn is. He starts at 15.10 - whereas Bivol himself, who follows, is as classy as you'd imagine.
