The all boxing thread

Offhand, I can’t think of any other sport where one defeat can be career-ending, so is dealing with that mental pressure - or the failure to do so - one of the things that sets real champions / genuine contenders apart from the rest?
99% of the greatest champions of all time have lost fights and it didn’t harm their careers.

IMO AJ is still enough of a draw to fight someone like Wilder and work his way back into contention.

Has to be Fury vs Usyk for all the belts tho’, and IMO Fury will, as I’ve said before, toy with Usyk.

At least with Wilder Fury you knew Wilder had a knockout punch if he could bring it to bear but Usyk doesn't have that ..

Have to admit I was a bit disappointed with the Usyk vs AJ fight having just now watched the whole thing.Perhaps it was an illusion but I really thought AJ came within an ace of finishing Usyk in the ninth round.Usyk was pretty much running away at that point. That's how it appeared to me as an uninitiated punter at any rate.

I suspect AJ has a slightly better chance of beating Fury (but still loses), though Usyk is the better boxer of all 3 of them. Certainly om some pound for pound basis.

Will Joshua accept Fury’s offer of a fight in December (assuming Fury is serious and not just trolling)?

He has to, doesn’t he? A crack at the world title when he’s not the first challenger in line for the chance, it’s a good offer, no?
And of course if he ducks it, this would further strengthen the idea that he’s been avoiding Fury since their last (drawn) fight…

Don't think they've fought before have they?

I think most people just want to get it set that Joshua is no where near the fighter Fury is

It’s a pay day for fury and a pay day schooling for Joshua.

It’s about how little self respect Joshua has for himself versus the purse

Surely the opposite. He'll get beat and at some level probably knows that. It's self respect that's led him to this 'shot at redemption'.

Shields/Marshall has been postponed to Mid October. Fucking stupid, not just because of the disruption caused, but also having to make weight twice.

Also if there's one thing the Old Baked Bean was into it was cracking on with things.

Doubt she would have been behind the cancellation of all sports

My barber was talking about getting his boxing medical today, seems he is an amateur. We agreed if Anthony Joshua fights Tyson Fury he will likely lose, Fury being just too big and strong. So I understand Usyk doesn't want to fight Fury at the moment., can't blame him. We agreed the Mike Tyson life story towards the end was a bit sad.

That is all I have, my haircut (a no 2 all over) doesn't take long :) :(
