Maybe 4 or 5 times a year, sometimes for birthdays, sometimes 'cos we don't want to cook. Nearly always Indian or pizza (Domino's do good deals) as we don't have a decent Chinese takeaway round here. Occasional fish and chips.

We are more likely, if we are feeling lazy, to get supermarket pizza or frozen fish and oven chips

Once a week {ish} { a Friday} from the rather excellent chippy in the high street , they don't deliver and you have to queue for an age in all weathers but always worth it .As for Indian and/or Chinese every couple of months re Indian and rarely a Chinese

dessiato I loved those van/lorry things that used to turn up at markets or had a pitch in a car park that did those rotisserie chickens in Spain. The 'gravy' in the tray dipped in bread irresitible.

It's great isn't it? I'd love to find one here but uk seems to prefer KFC

Once or twice a week.

The one decent Indian in town delivers and sometimes we get a shish from the Turkish place or a dominos.

I don't love cooking, I think it's a chore, particularly the planning and shopping part. So weekday dinners are hello fresh or gousto. If I have to cook most nights then I at least want it to be easy. I'd rather do other things with my leisure time.

Whilst not as good as those commercial ones I do have a rotisserie which I use in my air fryer oven ,there is a tray you can insert underneath. I also have rotisserie motor on my barbecue but I just grill chicken like the Portuguese now.

Thinking about a sweet & sour Hong Kong style something or other with one of those big old fat spring rolls....

Once a week usually on a Thursday - just me to buy for. Generally rotates around my locals - fish and chips, balti/tandoori curry, Chinese/Thai, Turkish kebabs. Don't get pizza takeaways/deliveries very often. Enjoy one night each week not cooking (especially for myself) and trying different things.

Used to get fish and chips or a kebab occasionally as a treat and Dominoes delivered for a blow out but since I’ve changed my diet I don’t really fancy this and the only thing I’ll get is halloumi kebab when I’m really in need of something.

Once a weekish. Thursday is chips night for me cos partner zedr is usually working late. We used to order a lot more, but have somehow got onto a list as 'pizza delivery mystery shoppers' so get a free delivered 18" pizza once a month. Occasionally if we're knackered we might get a Chinese or Indian, and theres also a great Nepalese place near us.

We used to get takeaways more when we both worked, which is no longer the case. Sometimes neither of us would be home until at least 7, and neither of us wanted to cook.

We get them a lot less now due to having more time to cook, and to the quality having gone down. TBH, we're rarely tempted. The Babur, a good Indian restaurant near us, is worth getting as is the chippie Brockley's Rock, but not much else. I can't believe I'm saying this as we're in inner London, not a remote village.

I think the rise of Deliveroo, Uber Eats and the associated 'dark kitchens' have contributed to the drop in quality.

went for a chippy tea today - larder is pretty much empty, as i was expecting to be somewhere else by this evening

not much change out of ten quid for haddock and chips (was a large haddock - they didn't have any small ones)

We have friends who come over for a curry every couple of months as there’s a great Indian takeaway near us but I’ll make all the chapattis, naans and rice so we only order mains to save cash. During the pandemic when we were both made redundant and scarily skint, I worked on replicating our favourite Chinese and Indian dishes and the habit has stuck.
Curious which one...Bengal Brasserie? That my favourite. I used to get at least one a week from there, but my girlfriend is very anti-takeaways and has slowed me down a bit. I love them, though.
