Suppose the Tories won the next election...

Fullyplumped

in a personal capacity
Suppose the Tories won the next UK General Election, perhaps as a result of a combination of factors - a charismatic new Tory leader, a mis-handled change of Labour leader, a catastrophic house-price collapse, and so on. Say the Tories won more seats in England and the Lib Dems and SNP squeezed out a bunch of sitting Labour MPs. They have a majority of 20.

Would you be particularly bovvered?

What would be likely to change? In the NHS, in jobs and training, in housing and the economy, in addressing poverty and equality, in addressing racism, in terms of military and foreign policy?

We don't know what direction the Tory party will take yet, but I'd certainly fear for the NHS and the minimum wage under a Tory govt.

No party has ever won 5 in a row, and 4 in a row has only been done once, so Labour have no right to assume they will win in '09.

You mentioned the Liberal Democrats and the SNP...it'll be interesting to see if the Lib-dems improve further on their 05 position, or if that was a high watermark. An SNP/LibDem alliance could/would hit Labour hard, but I don't know how likely that would be.
