Shoplifting on the rise

I accidentally shoplifted at Sainsbury couple of weeks back, Having gone through the scab tills I arrived back at the car and lifted the shopping bag into the boot to notice two items in the trolley that must have been hidden by the bag. Checked the receipt and they weren't on it. Debated whether to go back but decided that would probably be more hassle than it was worth.

I accidentally shoplifted a whole basketload from Sainsbury's a few years ago. Tried to pay with contactless at a scab till and genuinely didn't notice that my bank had done the nope, you must input your pin every £100 thing. I thought it had gone through and went home. Only realised much later (presumably when looking at the app for some other reason, though I can't specifically remember).

Next day, I went back and attempted to pay for it. Not because I love Mr Sainsbury, but because I shopped there often, could afford to pay, and didn't want to be treated with suspicion in future.

However, the people on the tills stared at me like I was dangerously bananas, conferred, and then explained gently that I didn't need to worry about it

Happened to me once at Lidl but I was stopped on the way out. They were nice to me.
