Sci-fi fantasy actors who turn up in new sci-fi fantasy roles

Am I the only person who thought firefly was shit and serenity slightly shitter? poll time methinks

Season 1 often just sets the trend and lets the actors get used to the roles etc.

Firefly had good potential for it's first run.

edit.. ffs, when did I start saying 'season' instead of 'series'

well, starbuck from battlestar is going to play a role in the new bionic woman (rumour but she sort of gave it away lol).

God I love starbuck :D

Original Starbuck or New Starbuck?

Tell me about it, after being in asia mostly teaching alongside North Americans, I now say 'grade' instead of 'year'. :(

Still, at least I haven't started saying 'recess' instead of 'break'. That would really be crap.

Star trek: The same actor who played Odo was an admiral in one of the earlier films

They reuse actors heavily.

he is also in enterprise and voyager.

the commander in the DMZ in ds9 that goes over to the maquis is in one of the films, undiscovered country I think

there is an episode of tng with the actor who plays tom paris in it.

I can trump that. Michael Ansara, who played Elric the Technomage in Babylon 5, was a Klingon captain in the original 60s Star Trek. He reprised the role in Deep Space Nine.

Quite possibly the campest sci-fi character EVER. He had me in stitches every time I saw him. It's just the way he delivers his lines:D

Wow, that is geeky! ;)

I forgot about chekov in babylon 5.. that was awesome :D

Can I have Michael Ironside who has been in nearly every scif fi film and tv program ever..

He has an amazing CV! Andromeda, Seaquest DSV, Walker Texas ranger (may as well be Sci Fi)

Edited to add: the voyager doctor was a robot taxi in Total Recall...

Nick Lea ,or Kryacheck in the Xfiles, is also in the Outer Limits and CSi and loads of other stuff too

You forgot V! How could you...?

Ironside? Add 'V' to that, as well as Starship Troopers...fuck me, according to IMDB he was in an episode of The Littlest Hobo when he started out...

And I see peeps dissing Kevin Sorbo above...nowt wrong with the Sorb...turned up in last week's OC of all things (Wry watches it - she gets OC and Ugly Betty, I get Andromeda and 1 other sci-fi show a week)...

OK, hows this then, Robert Picardo, The Doctor from STV:

Total Recall (voice of JonnyCab!!), ST First Contact, The 4400, Stargate Atlantis as well as a few more SF flicks...

Christopher Eccleston quits Dr Who with fears of being typecast... Turns up in heroes playing the invisible man. :D

Admittedly the invisible man character is quite a good one, but still.
Clearly they've just cast him as an invisible man in case he fucks off after one season again... :)

SG

The Cigarette Smoking Man was a Prior in Stargate recently. AD Skinner and John Doggett have been in the show as well, and General Hammond was Scully's dad.

There's a lot of crossover between the X-Files, Stargate and Battlestar because they're all filmed in Vancouver and make use of local actors.

He was The Cowboy in Innerspace, too. Great campy nostalgia movie, that...

We're forgetting that journeyman actor of moden Sci-fi, Lance Henricksson.

OOO...and...Jensen Ackles...currently in Supernatural but was in Dark Angel as one of the Manticore transgenics (twice in fact - one killed by Max and one who got a regular gig in the 2nd season as Alex)

James Marsters played Spike in Buffy / Angel, and then later appeared as Brainiac in Smallville.

I know it's utter shit but I loved the second series. 'the dead cannot blah blah balh' and that man who shoot someone with a N64 controler (worst prop ever?)

the third kind of bored me and I never watched beyond.
