Sci-fi fantasy actors who turn up in new sci-fi fantasy roles

Re: last post
Zed being tied up each episode...?
Surely you mean Zev, or after they changed actresses, Xev....?
Personally, I was a Gigarotta or even Stanley Tweedle fan myself, depending on the Episode....

sulu from star trek in heroes

Will Robinson from lost in space in Babylon 5

There's Probably someone from sliders that's in that Muppets in space thing farscape
Brian Johnson from every genre show...in every other genre show!

why the hell they axed firefly and allowing dumb shitty degrading so-called 'sci-fi' like andromeda on air?!!!!!
Because Firefly cost a fucking fortune to make and the others were cheap as chips.

And I loved Lexx, too. The world needs more silliness like that.

Mal Reynolds in Firefly was the evil Pastor in (I think) season 7 of Buffy. I'm surprised I'm the first to mention that.

It is odd how there seem to be so few scifi actors to go round. It hasn't got to Aussie TV series level of character-casting incest, though.

Bork Queen Alice Krige turns up in loads of horror and sci-fi. She was in Star Trek, Children of Dune, The 4400 and Dinotopia on the telly and in Ghost Story, Haunted Summer, Sleepwalkers, Institute Benjamenta, Twilight of the Ice Nymphs and Silent Hill on the big screen.

Veronica Cartwright has been doing genre films and telly ever since she was the little girl in Hitchcock's The Birds. Among others she's been in Alien, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Witches of Eastwick, The X-Files and the recent Invasion.

I suspect it has something to do with the fact that once an actor is in a SF movie or series, it damages his/her ability to work in other genres. What makes up for this is that SF fans are loyal to even minor actors in minor SF productions. If you were Dabo girl or Green Slave Woman in one espisode of ST, you can count on getting convention gigs for the rest of your life.

Doc from Back to the Future plays a Klingon commander in one of the star trek movies.

*waits for trekkie nerd to tell me he wasn't a commander but some other rank*

Adam Baldwin and the woman who plays Zoe were in Angel while the latter is Mrs Morpheus with a small role in Matrix Releaded. Gina Torres.

Tsk, 4 pages in and still no-one's mentioned the ubiquitous Alan Dale (AKA Jim Robinson) who apart from popping up in Lost and Star Trek: Nemesis, was also in The X-Files as the Toothpick Man.

And Bad guy VP in 24S2, and also the baddie in Ugly Betty...not sci-fi (altho I have hopes they'll do a sci-fi episode where the blond receptionist chickette goes all Barbarella and Salma Hayak just does anything that involves her loosing clothing) but still, he's getting around, non?

tony todd was in the x files as well as every other show; he also played worf's brother kurn in star trek.

The X-Files is like the Bill for US actors. When we look up an actor on the IMDB, half the time they've been in TXF (this is of course partly because of the films we choose to watch).
